April 22nd, 2010

Hi kids!

Hold on to your hats, this is a bit of an epic one!

  • The Bermuda National Gallery are hosting a Wine-Tasting Event tomorrow night from 6pm until 7pm, featuring New World wines and wine aficionado John M. Sharpe.  Admission is $50 and docents will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have about their current exhibitions.

  • I've had quite a few questions about this so I gather that you'll all be excited to know that Harbour Nights 2010 will start next Wednesday!  Click here for the website.

  • Ted Mills, best known as the voice of 70's soul/R&B band Blue Magic, will be performing live and jamming with local bands at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 24th.  Tickets are $50 and are available from www.bdatix.comClick here for the flyer

  • Not just for techies, TechWeek 2010 will be launched Wednesday, April 28th, with key public activities on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  There will be various special events including Lunch 'n Learns with local technology companies, school-based activies for children of all ages, TechArt Exhibition, and awards ceremonies to showcase the best technology talent in Bermuda.  Full details are on www.techweek.bm.

  • It's almost that time of year again for Bermuda's biggest charity event - it's the Catlin End to End!  This is when a brave troop of crazy people walk all the way from one end of the island to the other, in order to raise money for worthwhile charities.  This is the 23rd year of operation and takes place on Saturday, May 1st.  If you're interested in signing up, pledging, or even just finding out a bit more about it, please see www.bermudaendtoend.bm

  • With all the goings-on lately, it seems like we need a little more community spirit – so it's good timing for the First Annual Four Seasons City Art Festival!  This is a free event from May 7th until May 9th and includes a craft fair, happy hour, music, performance art and more at various locations throughout the city.  See City Hall's website or click here for the flyer if you'd like more details.

  • Cafe 4 are offering a 18oz T-Bone Steak Dinner Special for $29.50 with a 20% discounts on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Here's the flyer.

  • Anyone in need of some pampering?  Now you have an even better excuse than usual as Willow Stream are running a special offer.  Book a 90-minute treatment Monday through Friday and they'll provide you with a complimentary Bento Box lunch – just ask for the "Spring Free" special when booking.  Also, during May, if you bring three generations of your family and book two 90 minute treatments, the third treatment is free.
