Hi Kids!

A little quickie for today:

  • Money can be a little tight at this time of year so it's nice to have a few freebies out there to make things a little easier on the wallet!  Masterworks Museum in the Botanical Gardens are offering Arts for All, free community art workshops for adults and kids aged 5 to 13. The first is on Thursday, December 29th with three different workshops available.  From 10am until noon is a jewellery-making class, book-making from noon 1pm until 3pm and then an adult paper-making class with Ami Zanders Robyn DeSilva from noon until 3pm 3.30pm until 6pm. On Friday, December 30th, kids can learn to make their own felt from scratch from 10am until 12 noon, soap-carving from 1pm until 3pm and adults can learn sketch painting with Vernon Clarke from 10am until 1pm.  Saturday, December 31st is Family Day from 10am until 12 noon with art activities that adults and kids can enjoy together.  Spaces are limited and you can register for one workshop per person.  To register, call 236-2950 - here's the flyer!

  • Another one to add to the NYE list – Sea Breeze Salsa is holding their very first New Year's Eve party at 64 Degrees at Port Royal Golf course.  From 9am until 3am, DJ Mezcla will be playing the hottest Latin, old school reggae and R&B music with dress code as "dress to impress" in traditional holiday red or green.  Tickets are $60 ($75 after December 28th) and include hors d'oeuvres before midnight, one drink and a traditional codfish breakfast served at 1am.  To purchase/reserve, call 737-8637 or email sws@seabreezesalsa.com – here's the flyer

  • January tends to be a detox month for many people so the Caledonian Society of Bermuda thought they would offer an alcohol-free option! After the success of Whisky Galore! in October, they will be presenting their second movie screening on Sunday, January 8th. This is not a Scottish film, however you'll probably forgive them as they will be bringing in the UK's No. 1 comedy, The Inbetweeners Movie! This will be showing at 7pm in BUEI, tickets cost $15 and are available now at www.premiertickets.bm. This is a very popular movie and over 1/3 of tickets have already sold so get your tickets early! For more details, see www.caledoniansocietyofbermuda.comhere's the flyer!
