August 9th, 2017 Bermuda Calendar Update

Spend your Saturday nights under the stars with great music, food and a family atmosphere for all to enjoy as the Simons Brothers Band host their Saturday Summer Night Live Road Show 2017, running weekly from Saturday, August 5th until Saturday, September 9th.

This event will take place from 8pm until 10pm at a different location each week: August 5th at T N Tatem Middle School Field, August 12th & August 19th at Shelly Bay Field, August 26th, September 2nd & September 9th at venues to be announced.

Featuring the Simons Brothers Band along with other local talents, you are invited to bring chairs and blankets to sit on as you enjoy the concert. There will also be food vendors and special raffle prizes to win.

If you are interested in gaining a better understanding about maintaining a healthy spine, or if you want to regain freedom in your spine, join My Sereni-Tea as they host Towards a Resilient Spine on Saturday, August 19th.

Our back reflects the degree of communication through our entire organism. In this workshop, led by Frauke Voss, Guild-Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner who uses Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement techniques, you will improve this communication by means of different strategies: using the hands to improve the flexibility of the spine; improve uprightness through a pre-crawl exploration; improve mobility and adaptability of the spine and ribs through pelvis and shoulder interaction.

The workshop is from 1:30pm until 4:30pm at Westmeath on Pitt’s Bay Road.

The cost is $150.

Join Cobb’s Hill Gospel Chapel for their Annual Community BBQ on Saturday, August 19th.

This will be from 5pm until 8pm  at Cobbs Hill Gospel Chapel field, on the corner of Cobbs Hill and the Railway Trail, where you can expect to find food, snowballs, popcorn, games, fun castles, Gombeys, music, and entertainment on offer and completely free.

In addition, all are welcome to attend their special Community Church Service at 11:15am on Sunday, August 20th.

Perfect for beginners interested in learning a specific life-changing meditation technique, join My Sereni-Tea for a 4-week journey to create your “Inner Sanctuary” with their course Create Your Sacred Space Within starting on Thursday, September 7th.

The course will be led by Deryn E. Higgins Mh. D CST, to give you scientific tools to use each day, dealing with life on its terms, and bring you back to your heart center.

This 5-session course will run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, every Thursday until September 28th, and from 6pm to 7pm on Friday, September 29th,

The cost is $275 and a non-refundable $50 deposit is required to secure your space. A certification from Delphi University will be given upon completing the course. All sessions must be taken.

Try a music and movement class created for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers at Zumbini on Saturday, September 9th.

From 10:30am at 20 Union Street, upstairs Henry’s Laundromat, you are invited to come sing, play instruments and bond with your little ones (ages 0-4) as they promise the ultimate bonding experience for you and your child. Through music and movement, this class is designed to promote the development of children’s cognitive, social, emotional and motor skills.

This is a free trial class and participants must register in advance.

Are you ready to start your Reiki Journey this year? If yes, then join My Sereni-Tea as they host Reiki Level One Training on Sunday, September 24th.

This one-day workshop will be held from 10am until 1pm at their premises on the 4th floor of the Bermudiana Arcade.

Reiki is an ancient healing art that promotes self-healing, relieves disease and stress, and encourages an overall state of well-being. Experience the possible shift when you unblock your mental, emotional, spiritual field.

In Reiki Level 1 they will examine the history of this fascinating art, as well as the practical teachings to allow students to begin to practice the right way. The class allows the Reiki Level 1 students to practice on themselves and others.

The cost is $200 and a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to secure your space. Students will be given a Reiki Level 1 Certificate in the Usui Method of Reiki upon completion of the class.
