Morning all!

It’s not raining – the world is good!  Let’s hope we have a decent weekend for a change:

  • Elite Brand Solutions presents Yele Yele Haiti Benefit Party tomorrow night at the Wine Cellar. Dress code is Red, Blue or Black, admission is $25, doors open at 10pm, with drinks specials until 11pm and $3 shots all night long. Tickets are sold at Sasch, Sound Stage and Limelight Barbershop, or call 333-1727/238-3156. Let me know if you’d like the flyer as this is a great cause.

  • The Bacchanalian Society of Bermuda are holding a “Power of Three” Wine-Tasting Night on Friday, March 12th at Masterworks in the Botanical Gardens. I haven’t been to one of these before but it sounds like they have a really interesting way of doing it. All you have to do is assemble a team of 3 people, decide as a team your favorite bottle of wine, each person purchases the SAME bottle of that favorite wine (that's three bottles per team), then bring it with you to the venue and the tasting begins. The varietal for this event is Australian White. Tickets are $20 and available from bdabacchanalian@northrock.bm or 291-1474. Proceeds go to Masterworks, let me know if you’d like the flyer.

  • The Mariners RFC Mad Hatter’s Rugby Easter 7’s After Party, which will take place in the Mariners club on Saturday, April 3rd. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 on the door and are available from any player or online at www.premiertickets.bm. As in previous years, this is an all-you-can-drink event with prizes for best hats. Let me know if you’d like the flyer.

  • I also have spa and room offers for Elbow Beach for anyone who is interested?

Morning all!

The weather might be a bit schizophrenic right now but I do believe there are hints of spring in the air.  You would think that this would bring joy to my heart but, alas, there is an empty space there right now.  Yes, I have given up chocolate for Lent yet again and, as usual, I am very cranky and snarly.  If you find me baring my teeth at you or anything, throw me some Jelly Babies and back away slowly from the angry, angry girl.  Anyway, distractions are in order – I need fun things to do, like the below:

  • The eagerly-awaited (by me ‘cos Johnny Depp is in it!) Bermuda Premiere of Alice in Wonderland 3D and Mad Hat Party is coming to Liberty Theatre on Friday, March 5th! There are two levels of ticket available – the $50 Mad Hat Party ticket available from BIFF or bdatix.com, includes complimentary wine from 6.30pm until 7.15pm, just before the Mad Hat competition starts at 7.30pm. The $25 Premiere Ticket is available from Music Box, Liberty Theatre Box Office or bdatix.com and grants you entry from 7.15pm. Prizes for the Maddest Hat and the Most Artistic Hat include CD vouchers provided by Music World and certificates for lunch and dinner at Mad Hatters Restaurant. All Premiere and Party Tickets include Hat Competition, 3D Film Screening, Souvenir Cup & Soft Drink and a Discount on BIFF 2010 Matinee Films. The film itself starts at 8pm.

  • The Bermuda Chamber Choir will be performing Dvorak, Schubert and the Sacred Music of the Romantic Era on Thursday, March 11th at 7.30pm. This will take place at St. John’s Church in Pembroke and tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for students and tickets are available from C-Travel or Bermuda School of Music. Let me know if you’d like the flyer.

  • Back by popular demand, 441 Productions are hosting Shamrock & Roll 3 on Saturday, 20th March, featuring a live performance by Elevation, the U2 Tribute Band, and Bermuda's own Kennel Boys as the opening act. As in previous years, this will be in Barr's Bay Park to celebrate St. Patrick's Day from 7pm until 1am. Tickets are available at bdatix.com for $40 + $4 fee until March 1st and then $50 + $5 fee.
