Why be a spectator when you can play the game? The National Sports Centre has partnered with the Department of Youth Sports and Recreation to produce the Youth Sports Expo 2015 on Saturday, September 12th.
This event will take place at the National Sports Centre from 11am until 4pm using the North Fields, Aquatic Centre and Event Tent. The aim is to promote healthy lifestyles through sport to the young people of Bermuda
This initiative has the commitment of twenty-three (23) National Sports Governing bodies as well as the Bermuda School Sports Federation, The Bermuda Sports Anti-Doping Agency and The America’s Cup, all prepared to showcase their sports to the public.
The objective is to attract parents, guardians and young people to the facility to listen to the respective sporting organizations, watch demonstrations and have the ability to participate. The hope is that each sport will attract new people either as participants or maybe even as volunteers.
An event like this needs the support of the community to be a success. It is a known fact that exercise plays a major role in the development of healthy children and adults. Sport is a great way to get the daily exercise that the body requires and organized sport is a great way to develop mental focus, healthy routines and good relationships.
This event will be interactive and free to the public.
