Hope you all managed to indulge in many delicious pancakes yesterday. Today, BermudaEvents.com, the website formerly known as NTDIB, turns 7 years old – cake for everybody!!
It’s a new month already and there are plenty of things to do in Bermuda in March and beyond – here are the events which have been added to the calendar since last week.
As always, don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of the post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.
The ACBDA would like to invite local businesses and entrepreneurs to attend the upcoming Local Business Opportunities Information Sessions.
Our role as a community is to ensure that our visitors have access to the services, products and experiences that will result in them choosing to visit Bermuda again and again.
The information sessions will be in different categories. Land and Water Transportation will be the focus on Wednesday, March 1st and Entertainment will be on Thursday, March 2nd, both running from 6pm until 8.30pm in St. Paul’s Centennial Hall.
Monday, March 6th will focus on West End Business Opportunities from 6pm until 8pm at Willowbank Hotel and Resort, while East End Business Opportunities will be discussed on Tuesday, March 7th from 6pm until 8.30pm at BIOS.

The Reefs invite you to an exclusive seven-course dinner party hosted by their talented culinary team at their monthly Chef’s Table event, with the next being on Wednesday, March 1st.
Served in the elevated fine dining atmosphere of Royston’s from 7pm, they will entice your palate with wonderfully creative local fare and hand-selected wines
Seating is limited to 12 guests, with a minimum of 7 guests required.
Chef’s Table is available from mid-April through October, or by special event bookings. Your spot must be reserved by Tuesday at noon.
The cost is $125 per person, plus $17% gratuities.

Bermuda National Gallery in partnership with Bermuda Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Bermuda National Library – Youth Services invites you to Celebrate World Book Day from Thursday to Saturday, March 2nd to 4th.
Valuing the importance of imagination, creativity and the love of learning, families and teachers are encouraged to bring your children to visit the Bermuda National Gallery or the Youth Library on Church Street, between March 2nd and 4th to receive a free book as a gift, courtesy of Bermuda Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
This will be available during normal opening hours, from 10am until 4pm, with the exception of Bermuda National Gallery which closes at 2pm on Saturdays.
The BNG always offers free admission for students and the Bermuda National Youth Library always offers free Membership.

Promising fun for the entire family, Holy Trinity Church are hosting a Super Fair on Saturday, March 4th.
From 10am until 3.30pm in the church hall, you can expect great raffle prizes, childrens’ activities, preserves and jams, plants, lunches, burgers and soup, cakes, pies and cookies, book stall including Bermuda books, antiques and treasures, White Elephant Stall, and much more.

Unleash your creativity at the Scribbles Art Shack Pop-Up Art Studio every Saturday in March.
From 10am until 1pm, and then from 2pm until 6pm during the Black Collective Market, this will be an open art studio format.
This environment is mess-allowed and clients aged 1+ can come and create from the various options available. Adult Painting Time is also available from 4pm until 6pm for groups of 6 persons.
The cost per person, per hour is $10 for kids aged under 2 and $20 for those aged 2 and over. Payment can be made by cash or by online transfer if pre-booking.

Treat yourself to An Evening of Wine & Fun at Café Lido on Saturday, March 4th.

Support the next generation of Bermuda’s men by joining Impact Mentoring Academy for a night of expression through Spoken Word on Saturday, March 4th.
From 7pm at St. Paul’s AME Centennial Hall, the students of Impact Mentoring Academy will share their mind, sharing their words for a night of artistic expression, along with other guest performances. Dress code is smart.
Admission for teens and adults aged 13 and older is $40, which includes a meal. The first 50 children aged 5 years and under are free. All of the proceeds of this event are to aid the students mission trip to Haiti with Feed My Lambs Ministry – Bermuda.

Capitol Karaoke presents Karaoke Night on Saturday, March 4th.
From 8pm until late at BMDS’ Daylesford Theatre, the ticket price will include a welcome drink and a light supper.
The tickets are $40 each and must be pre-purchased as there will be no ticket sales at the door.

Welcome in spring with an evening of music to fill your soul, soothe and inspire as the Bermuda Philharmonic Strings invites you to their Spring Prelude Concert on Sunday, March 5th.
From 7pm in the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall, this promises to be a concert of enchanting music for string orchestra, from the sultry sounds of Gershwin to the driving rhythms of Britten.
Tickets are $25 for adults or $15 for students/seniors and available from www.pTix.bm, 278-1500, or at Harbourmaster. Proceeds will go to the Bermuda Philharmonic Scholarship Fund to help the next musical generation.

The Saltus Association presents An Evening of Classical Music with 23-year-old Hungarian Virtuoso Pianist Daniel Lebhardt on Monday, March 6th.
This event will start at 6pm in the Alumni Hall in the Secondary Dept. at Saltus Grammar School. The first prize winner of numerous international piano competitions, Mr. Lebhardt has performed as a soloist across Europe, Asia and the United States, including performances at Musée du Louvre (Paris), Wigmore Hall (London) and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC). In his New York debut, The New York Times described the young Hungarian as “adventurous…showing daring command…[along with]…power, poetry and formidable technique”.
Patron tickets are $50, adult tickets are $20, and student tickets are $10. There are a limited number of Patron tickets, which include front-of-house seating as well as drinks before and a reception with Mr. Lebhardt after the show. You are invited to join the MSA alumni involved in the upcoming America’s Cup for an inside look at what to expect and tour of the BUEI’s Built to Win exhibit at their upcoming event, MSA Alumni Association Cocktail Reception: Cocktails & The America’s Cup on Friday, March 10th.
From 5.30pm at BUEI, the educational exhibition includes artifacts from the very first America’s Cup event in 1851 as well as exhibits displaying the cutting-edge technology used in today’s racing. Among the highlights are the virtual reality headsets that place the viewer in the seat of a soaring America’s Cup catamaran, a video game set in the heart of the Great Sound, a grinding machine that tests the user’s mental agility before and after exercise, and an array of catamaran materials used on the crafts throughout the years.
Refreshments will be served and there will be a cash bar.

Now in its 19th year of junior races, the 2017 KPMG Round the Grounds Running Race will be on Sunday, March 12th.
Held at the Botanical Gardens in Paget, this annual event is for runners aged 4 to 18 years old. The first race starts at 1pm with the 4 year old girls. Children’s activities will be provided by Masterworks; other activities and refreshments also available. Parking is available at the Tucker property and you are advised to arrive early to avoid queues.
The entry fee is $10. You can register online at www.RaceDayWorld.com or download the entry form here. Number pick-up, including late entries at a cost of $15, will be on Saturday, March 11th at Masterworks in the Botanical Gardens between noon and 2pm.

L’Alliance Française des Bermudes invite you to join them for a Soirée Spéciale Nouvelle-Calédonie on Wednesday, March 15th.
The evening at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club will begin with cocktails at 7pm, followed by dinner at 8pm. The ticket price includes a welcome drink and dinner. During dinner, there will be a special presentation by New Caledonians currently residing in Bermuda. It promises to be a great opportunity to learn more about this beautiful French territory in the South Pacific.
During the evening, the Alliance Francaise will announce the winners of the Alliance’s sponsorships to visit and study in Cannes, France, for three weeks this summer. The Alliance Francaise will also have the pleasure to thank the scholars from last year.

The Bermuda Irish Association invite you to join them for a celebration of Irish music, dancing and culture to celebrate their national holiday at their St. Patrick’s Day Gala Dinner on Saturday, March 25th.
This evening in the ballroom at the Hamilton Princess will begin with a cocktail reception at 7pm, followed by dinner at 8pm. Entertainment will include a guest speaker and a performance of Irish music by Spraoi and again some quality Irish dancers to show us their skills and maybe teach a few of us how it should be done.
Tickets are $165 each and corporate tables are also available for $2500 each. All profits from the event will be donated to local charities.

Especially for kids aged 4 to 12, Camp Core presents Spring Explorer from Monday to Friday, March 27th to 31st.
From 8.30am until 5.30pm each day at Cities of Refuge Ministries on the Second Floor of the Berkeley Cultural Centre, this faith-based camp will be filled with games, field trips and a scavenger hunt.
The fee is $75.

Bermuda Toastmasters invite you to join them for their annual Speech Contest for 2017 on Wednesday, March 29th.
From 6pm until 8pm at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, contestants will present a 5 to 7 minute speech on any subject of their choosing.
This is a great chance to both observe proficient speakers in their milieu and also learn more about the Island’s largest Toastmaster’s Chapter.

Geared towards parents, home day care providers, teachers/assistants of nurseries, day cares and preschools across Bermuda, the Early Childhood Symposium, with the theme Growing One Step at a Time, will be taking place on Saturday, April 8th.
From 9am until 1pm at Bermuda College, Brain Development in Early Childhood, Speech/Language, Child Development, Nutrition, Multi-sensory Classroom Environments, and Importance of Literacy and How Trauma affects Behaviour in Early Childhood, are all topics that will be explored. The keynote address will be held in The Lecture Theatre #100 and the other topics will be in several rooms adjacent to the Lecture Theatre.

Relieve pain and restore health as the Yoga Centre are offering a Therapeutic Yoga for Low Back Program, starting on Saturday, April 8th.
Running weekly from 3.30pm until 5pm on Saturdays until May 20th, this is a 7-week progressive series for students of all levels, body types and abilities, with a strong focus on individual adaptation of yoga practices to stabilize the low back and pelvis and to help relieve chronic low back tension and pain. The program is based on definitive research recognizing the benefit of therapeutic yoga for the treatment of chronic low back pain.
The cost of the series is $200 and registration opens March 13th.
