Morning Troops!

There seems to be a holiday for every occasion, no matter how strange or random.  For example, National Gorilla Suit Day is on January 31st, Bad Poetry Day is on August 18th, and Cookie Monster Day is on November 2nd. Your favourite thing is not celebrated?!  Then great news as today, March 26th is Make Up Your Own Holiday Day! Hmmm…wonder if there’s already a Grilled Cheese Appreciation Day..  Anyway, here are the latest Bermuda events for Spring:

0326 Javon Johnson Slam Poet

If you are interested in writing or performing poetry, this is a literary experience not to be missed!  The Bermuda College Literary Society and Division of Liberal Arts presents Javon Johnson, Slam Poet on Wednesday, March 26th and Thursday, March 27th.  Not only is Javon Johnson an award-winning poet, he holds a PhD in Performance and Communication and is also a Professor at San Francisco State University. Teachers of English should find him especially interesting.  Javon will be hosting a Spoken Word Performance/Workshop in the Bermuda College Library at 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 26th.  The following day, there will also be a Spoken Word Performance and Q&A Session from 2pm until 4pm at the Bermuda College lecture theatre G301 in North Hall.  Both events are free and open to the public.  For more information, contact svirgil@college.bm.

Morning Boys and Girls!

I’m just giving you a heads-up that tomorrow is the International Day of Happiness in case you’d like to make an extra effort to spread happiness, especially to those who need it most. Hope that this will make some of you happy – here’s the latest rundown of things to do in Bermuda:
