Lainie Jasko, a producer with the Travel Channel USA shows Top Secret Beaches and Top Secret Swimming Holes is coming to Bermuda next month and is looking for locals to appear in the segments, enjoying the beaches and participating in the activities.
Segments and planned activities are as follows:
- Monday, March 20th: Horseback riding at Warwick Long Bay
- Tuesday, March 21st: Chaplin Bay (probably sea kayaking)
- Wednesday, March 23rd: Snorkel or SCUBA at Church Bay
- Thursday, March 24th: Cliff jumping and Cave swims at Tom Moore’s Jungle.
The pay is $75.

Bring a blanket or camp chair and a camera and enjoy an evening under the stars as the Bermuda National Trust invite you to their Moongazing at Verdmont event on Friday, February 10th.
From 6.30pm until 10pm, they promise that Verdmont’s ‘green hill’ is the place to be for this stellar evening, where you will be inspired to photograph the moon during a penumbral eclipse, join the tour of the historic house and settle in for a story under the stars.
At 7pm, you can learn some Night Sky photography tips, followed by a Tour of Verdmont House from 7.30pm until 8pm. There will then be a guest storyteller or night sky guide at 8.30pm.
The cost is $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $10 for juniors. Refreshments will be available to purchase.

Some of Bermuda’s finest jazz musicians come together for an unforgettable Evening of Jazz on Friday, February 10th.
There will be two shows at 7.30pm and 10pm at the Blue Waters Angler’s Club, featuring Tony Bari on keyboards, John Lee on Bass, Keible Hart on percussion, Sebastian Deiros on drums and Shine Hayward on woodwinds. Food and bar service will also be available.

St. Mark’s Church Guild is hosting a St. Valentine’s Dinner and Dance on Saturday, February 11th.

Martial arts fans are invited to Sensei Roots’ 22nd Annual Shiai Invitational Karate Tournament on Sunday, February 12th.
From 1pm at Pembroke Sunday School, this is an open martial arts tournament for all levels and ages, hosted by Sensei Roots.
The entry cost for spectators is $10 for adults, $5 for under-12s.

Educating the community about oral health needs, there will be an Oral Health Fair on Sunday, February 12th.
From 2pm until 4pm at Hamilton SDA Church Centre, there will be free oral cancer screenings, oral hygiene education, school entry screenings, and presentations on gum disease.
This event is free and open to the public.

The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard presents their latest exhibit In a Garden, opening on Sunday, February 12th.
This is a members’ show featuring art in all media, depicting all things found in the garden, such as plants, planters, vegetables and creatures. This is a fun show, sure to have something interesting for everyone.
The opening is from 3.30pm until 5pm on Sunday, February 12th and the show runs until March 17th.
Admission is free. The Arts Centre is open daily (excluding Good Friday) from 11am to 4pm, extending to 10am until 5pm from April 1st, and is wheelchair accessible.

Looking for something fun, creative and totally unique for your kids during the break? Let your child experience a week to remember at Art Shack February Camp from Monday to Friday, February 13th to 17th.
Offering a week of interactive and fun process art for kids aged 5 to 12, there will be theme-filled days that explore a different area of art each day. Monday’s theme will be All About Me, with portraits and more. Tuesday will be Adventure Art, which will be an outdoors activity, exploring local flora and fauna. Wednesday will be Bermudian Inspired Artists and Pop Art, while Thursday will be Recycled Creations and Student Art Showcase. The week will end on Friday with Salty Paint and Games.
This will run from 8.30am until 5.30pm each day in the Victoria Building, above Arnold’s Market on Front Street, with drop off from 8am.

The Bermuda Society For The Blind invite you to join them for their February Vision Talk Meeting on Monday, February 13th.
From 6pm in Astwood Hall at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, this monthly discussion group is open to the public and offers information on living with vision loss, and provides opportunities to network, share, and socialize with others in a caring and supportive environment.
Dr. Leonard Teye-Botchway, Founder and Medical Director of the Bermuda International Eye Institute, will speak about causes, treatments, and prevention of cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
There is no cover charge but donations are appreciated. Transportation is available for vision impaired people, if requested with their RSVP.

The February edition of the monthly Ciné Club from L’Alliance Française des Bermudes will be showing Ange et Gabrielle (Love at First Child) on Tuesday, February 14th.
Screening in the Tradewinds Auditorium at BUEI at 8pm, this French comedy/romance with English subtitles is from director Anne Giafferi and stars with Isabelle Carré, Patrick Bruel and Alice de Lencquesaing.
Gabrielle is a single mother, her 17-year-old daughter Claire is pregnant, however the child’s father Simon has no desire to be involved with his future baby. When Gabrielle takes matters into her own hands and asks Simon’s father Ange for help, an unexpected relationship begins…

It’s finally here, the Book Release Party for Giovanna Watson’s Dear Cancer, Let Me Introduce Myself will be on Saturday, February 18th.
From 7.30pm until 10pm at City Hall, there will be a short reading, speech, book purchase snd signing. There will be a salsa performance and Giovanna’s speech will be translated into Spanish and Sign Language.
