Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is celebrating the international spirit of sailing with a three-month art exhibition in the hotel lobby featuring an impressive series of artwork by well-known artist Ewan David Eason.
The commissioned art will showcase seven homes of sailing teams around the globe. The maps, brushed in gold, will feature Auckland, New Zealand; Lorient, France; Osaka, Japan; Portsmouth, England; San Francisco, U.S.; Stockholm, Sweden; and Bermuda.
The work aims to bring a new perspective to the traditions of cartography as Eason is inspired by the intricacies of mapping.
The exhibition will be hosted in collaboration with TAG Fine Arts, a London-based art dealer and publisher, from now until July 30th.

Will Black returns for his 12th season at Hog Penny Pub on Thursday, April 13th.
From 10pm until close from Wednesday until Saturday, you can enjoy a live performance from Hog Penny’s ever-popular in-house entertainer.
Every Wednesday night is a chance for you to share your musical talent live on stage at Hog Penny Pub. Open Mic Night is hosted by Will Black and all musicians both local and visiting are invited to perform. Will is happy to accompany singers on guitar, but please contact him in advance at if you have a particular song you’d like him to learn. Will’s guitar is always available for musicians to use for their performance or they can bring their own instrument.
Thursday night is Theme Night at Hog Penny and changes every week. In addition to your favourite song requests, international recording artist Will Black performs a nightly theme on vocals and guitar from the 70s, 80s or 90s plus a special Ladies Night too.
On Friday nights, Will will be by joined by Bermudian singer/songwriter Chris Finsness. Together they will use their guitars and vocal skills to create the premiere live atmosphere in Hamilton on a Friday night. Whether meeting your friends for drinks or singing and dancing to the songs you know and love, Hog Penny promises to always be your epic destination for late night live entertainment.
On Saturday nights, Will Black and Keith White will perform your favourite song requests from a repertoire of 700+ songs. They know what you need to hear, so come on down to Hog Penny Pub and spend an intimate and interactive evening at one of Bermuda’s best live performance venues.

Providing all the benefits of a basic yoga class at the level that the individual student is capable of practicing, a course on Adaptive Yoga for Every Body starts on Tuesday, April 18th.
With Adaptive Yoga, traditional poses are tailored to the physical body, rather than fitting and forcing the body into a particular pose and shape. Coupled with breathing, props such as blankets, chairs, yoga straps, and blocks are used to meet the unique needs of individuals with different abilities.
From 5.30pm until 7pm at the Yoga Centre, this 6 week course will be led by teacher Cinde Perreira, RYT 500. Students learn how to practice safe, comfortable Yoga and will explore the essential benefits of each asana and Yoga practice to determine how to best incorporate them into their practice without strain.
The cost is $130.

Herbgoddess Teas and Medicinal Botanicals cordially invite you to an evening of Tea Tasting and Tea Pairing at the Bermuda National Library on Tuesday, April 18th.
From 6pm until 7.30pm, there will be a talk on culinary adventures associated with using tea. The highlight of the evening will be the introduction to the second phase Signature Tea Collection from Herbgoddess formulated by Kuni Frith ND. There will also be door prizes.
Tickets are $5 and there will be no reserved seating. Tickets should be purchased in advance. Funds will be donated to the Friends of the Bermuda National Library.

Come and hear from the sailors themselves at an exciting and unique event as BUEI and ACEA present #ACSailor Talk with Oracle Team USA: What Does it Take to Win the America’s Cup? on Tuesday, April 18th.
To compete in the America’s Cup, the elite sailors of Oracle Team USA adhere to a strict regimen of training, measurement, and continuous improvement. Physical fitness is key, but equally important is mental clarity: the strength to grind and the awareness to make snap decisions on the water are what lead a team to victory.
The lecture starts at 7pm. Harbourfront are offering a 10% discount (food only) to anyone dining there before or after the event. Reservations are available from 5pm for the sushi bar with Sushi Happy Hour prices on selected sushi and drinks available until 6.30pm. The full menu will be available from 6pm. Seven former World Number One squash players and our own Bermuda National Champion will battle it out over four nights of exhibition play at Bermuda Squash & Fitness Club for Legends of Squash 2017 from Tuesday, April 18th to Friday, April 21st.
The players involved are all former World #1 ranked and World Champions. They include 2 time World Championa David Palmer from Australia, Peter Marshall from England, Jonathon Power from Canada, John White from Scotland and Lee Beachill from England.

Tomorrow’s Voices invite you to join them as they celebrate Autism Awareness Month with a Special Workshop and Panel Discussion with nationally renowned autism advocate Lorri Shealy Unumb of Autism Speaks on Wednesday, April 19th.
From 6pm until 9pm at Bermuda College, local parents Dr Wendy Young, Manielle Fox and Neil MacGuinness will also be in attendance to speak about their personal experiences raising and caring for a child with special needs across functioning levels and ages. The event will also include networking, refreshments and information booths from relevant health services in Bermuda.

Learn about the symptoms of grief, its psycho-neuro-immunological basis and a set of simple yoga exercises to address them while aiding the psychological transformation of grief into a resource of personal growth at the Yoga For Grief Relief: Weekend Retreat starting on Friday, April 21st.
Held at The Yoga Centre, the retreat will run from 9am until 6pm on Friday, April 21st, from 11am until 3pm and then from 5pm until 8pm on Saturday, April 22nd, and then from 9am until 5pm on Sunday, April 23rd. Lunch and tea breaks will apply.
It is open to all those suffering from grief as well as those professionals – hospice workers, social workers, family and marriage counselors, yoga teachers and therapists, clergy and first responders etc. – who care for them.
Conducted by Internationally renowned grief specialist and author, Antonio Sausys MA, CMT,RYT a somatic health practitioner and yoga therapist/teacher, this will be a combination of theory and experiential learning. This retreat is a pre-requisite training for those professionals interested in the Yoga for Grief Professional Level 1 training.
This retreat is held by the Yoga Centre in sponsorship with Friends of Hospice.

Try a music and movement class created for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers at Zumbini on Saturday, April 22nd.
From 10.30am at 20 Union Street, upstairs Hendy’s Laundromat, this will be full of music, dance and educational tools for 45 mins. Music is fun and when we enjoy ourselves we learn without knowing we are learning. Zumbini is a program that gives children the freedom and confidence to grow as they develop their social, motor and cognitive skills.
This is a free trial class and participants must register in advance.

The Australian and New Zealand community in Bermuda will respectfully observe their annual day of remembrance for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) with a Sunrise Service on Tuesday, April 25th.
This will be at 6.10am sharp in Victoria Park in Hamilton at 6.10 am sharp
While this day originally commemorated dawn landings for a wartime campaign in Turkey in 1915, the day now acknowledges all ANZACs who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served. Australians and New Zealanders across the world meet at dawn each year for a remembrance service in their respective countries.

Friends of Hospice presents Conversations on Being Mortal on Saturday, April 29th.
From 4pm until 6pm at the Peace Lutheran Church Hall, this will be a panel discussion reviewing the importance of having difficult conversations on end-of-life care. The panel will include Dr. Sharon Alikhani, Dr. David Harries, Harry Kessaram, and Tawanna Wedderburn.
It’s not required, but they encourage you to read the highly-praised book titled Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by New York Times bestselling author Dr. Atul Gawande. Copies of the book will be on sale and refreshments will be provided.

See two amazing concerts with international performers, topped off by a special student concert at the 14th Annual Bermuda Guitar Festival from Friday to Sunday, May 26th to May 28th.
The Friday concert will feature classical guitarist Gohar Vardanyan from 7.30pm. Gohar’s playing is of the highest quality – virtuosic,evocative and passionate.
At the Saturday concert from 7.30pm, Mike Dawes will be playing rock, blues and pop. Mike is regarded as one of the finest young steel string fingerstyle players in the world. Also performing will be new duo LaTania Elerbe and Steve Crawford playing rock classics arranged for violin and guitar.
On Sunday, May 28th, there will be a Student Gala Concert, featuring Bermuda’s up and coming guitarists at 2pm.
All concerts will take place at St. Andrew’s Church.
