Morning Kids!
Well, it’s that time of year again! This is my last post of 2017 so I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas for Monday and a very Happy New Year when it comes! And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, then I hope you enjoy the happy vibes at this time of year. Be good to each other and I hope 2018 is your best year yet! There is still time to leave your mark on 2017 as well so why not get out there and do something memorable?
The first post of 2018 will be on Wednesday, January 10th but events can still be added to the calendar, as usual, through the Submit Your Event section during this period.

In celebration of Family Month at Bermuda National Gallery, you can enjoy 7 Days of Family Art Activities at BNG from Monday to Sunday, December 18th to 24th.
BNG is hosting many fun-filled art activities throughout the month of December for families and children in the community. There will be many give away gifts, prizes and surprises! BNG values family time through creative expressions and art-making.
On Wednesday, December 20th, you can help decorate the BNG Christmas tree by bringing in a home-made ornament. This is free to all children and there will be a prize for the Best Home-Made Ornament.
On Thursday, December 21st, you can visit BNG for the 10am morning art tour and learn about the current exhibitions, The Power of Art and Shepard Fairey: Rebel with a Cause.
On Friday, December 22nd, there will be a small gift for every child who visits BNG that day. There will also be announcements of the prize winners of the Decorate the BNG Christmas Tree Best Home-Made Ornament and of the Scavenger Hunt raffle prize.
On Saturday, December 23rd, you can visit the Hamilton Princess Hotel for a free 10am Art Tour featuring artworks by artist Shepard Fairey and many more. You will also receive a free admission pass to BNG.
On Sunday, December 24th, you can visit BNG Sculpture Garden at Queen Elizabeth Park on Par-la-Ville Road in the City of Hamilton. Admission is free and you are invited to take an Instagram, Snapchat or Facebook photo of your favourite artwork and hashtag #BNG.
Gallery opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays, closed on public holidays.
To participate, all BNG activities require the cost of admission unless stated otherwise. Admission is $5 for adults and free for all children, BNG members, NARM members, seniors and students.

The Reefs’ popular Sunday Brunch goes festive with their lavish Christmas Day Brunch on Monday, December 25th.
From 11.30am until 3pm at the resort’s Ocean Echo Restaurant, you can enjoy brunch favourites like their stunning sushi and seafood displays will be accompanied by signature holiday fare of carved turkey, rosemary crusted lamb, and honey glazed ham.
The cost is $65 per person, plus 17% gratuity, and is half price for kids under 12.

Do you want that special Christmas meal without the hassle of cooking? The Reefs have the answer with their Christmas Carry Out on Monday, December 25th.
Their Christmas Carry Out options provide you with whole turkey, ham and a selection of side dishes for you to choose from. Simply order the items you would like and schedule the pick up. Promising that Front Street is the place to be on NYE, you are invited to New Year’s Eve in the City on Sunday, December 31st.
Under the mega tent at Number 1 Car Park on Front Street, doors open at 7pm and the family movie, Descendants 2, will kick off the night at 7.30pm.
Opening the evening will be D’General, one of Bermuda’s most in-demand DJs spinning hot titles to get you all warmed up for the live shows. The live entertainment will start after the movie with Olivia Hamilton. The former Bermuda Idol Winner will take to the stage to warm you up for the headline act, Keri Hilson.
Ms. Hilson, who hails from the United States, has had numerous R&B hits and collaborated with stars such as Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Nelly, Lil Wayne, R. Kelly and Chris Brown. With more than 1.6 million Instagram followers and over 7 million Like on FaceBook, Ms. Hilson continues to garner fans around the world. Experience the powerful gift of gymnastics – registration is now open for the Bermuda Gymnastics Winter Term 2018, starting on Friday, January 5th.
Gymnastics provides the basis for all basic movements and encourages the development of discipline, self-esteem, healthy self-image and goal setting in people of any age. They have recreational classes for children ages 18 months to adult at Saltus (senior gymnasium) on Saturdays and Monday through Saturdays at the National Training Centre (St. David’s).

Relieve pain and restore health as the Yoga Centre are offering an Essential Low Back Program starting on Saturday, January 6th.
From 3.30pm until 5pm, this is a 7-week course utilizing therapeutic yoga for the treatment of chronic lower back pain and tension. Students will learn how to build a strong foundation of support for the lower back, pelvis, hips and legs, to identify and modify non-serving movement habits, and to establish a regular practice for ongoing back health. The course is suitable for students of all ages, levels and abilities, and is a great refresher for repeat students.
The course is taught by an RYT 500 Essential Low Back Program certified teacher, Essential Yoga Therapist-in-Training.
The cost of the course is $200.

From 1.30pm until 2.30pm at Lotus Mind Body each week, girls aged 7 to 12 can get ready to be pampered up like a princess and/or queen. Coral Beach & Tennis Club (CBC) is pleased to announce that it has been named as the host of the 2018 Bermuda Breeze Tennis Championships, a prestigious United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned national championship tournament, from Wednesday to Sunday, April 11th to 15th.
Designed for players over the age of 40 playing in five age groups, is a USTA Adult National Category II Tennis Championships tournament. Players registered with the USTA are eligible to compete in the following age groups: 40s, 50s, 60s, 65s and 70s in men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles.
The cost of registration is $86.50 for first Singles, $54.25 for additional Singles, $65 for first Doubles, and $54.25 for additional Doubles. The maximum fee charged per player is $150, plus the processing fees for the number of events you select. A player can participate in a maximum of three events. Registration is available online at http://tennislink.usta.com/tournaments. The Tournament ID is 960000118 and entries close on March 31st, 2018.
All spectators are welcome to attend free of charge
A special rate, starting at $150 (plus taxes and services), for accommodations at CBC is available until January 15th, 2018, depending on availability.
