IslandKaddy presents Ladies Night Karaoke on Saturday, July 13th.

From 7pm until 10pm at their premises at 94 Reid Street, you can kick back with your besties and join for unlimited wine refills, singing, dancing & fun! Food specials for the evening will include their delicious homemade guacamole and mini sharing cheese plates.

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs presents: Emancipation: Writing Our Lives: The Importance of Autobiography and Biography Today on Thursday, July 18th.

From 6pm until 7pm at St. Theresa’s Hall, Dr. Arnold Rampasad, Professor Emeritus, Stanford University, will host a discussion of autobiography, memoir, and biography spanning from the New testament, to the writing of Mary Prince, to the present; and a reflection on the crucial importance of “life-writing” to our understanding of ourselves and our history.

Admission is free to the public and does not require a ticket.

Island Kaddy invites you to Sip & Sing at their Wine Tasting and Karaoke Night on Thursday, July 18th.

From 6:30pm until 7pm at their premises at 94 Reid Street, you will enjoy bubbles upon arrival with the Discovery Wines Team, and from 7pm until 9pm, interactive karaoke and wine tasting. Discovery Wines will present two Whites, two Rosé’s, and two Reds for you to try.

The first annual Aries Sports Fighting Championships will take place on Saturday, July 20th.

Gates open at 6pm at National Sports Centre, and from 7pm until 10pm under the big tent, you can support local athletes as the take on the international opposition in Chinese Kickboxing (San Da) and Brazilian Jiujitsu matches.

Tickets are $45 for General Admission, or $75 for VIP/Ringside (includes preferred parking), and available from www.Ptix.bm.

Bringing something new and soulful to you this summer, DJ Coolie and DJ Fury presents VIVID on Saturday, July 20th.

From 10pm until 3am at Cosmopolitan Night Club, this promises to be one of Bermuda’s most exclusive events, giving patrons a night to remember with electric beats of dancehall, soca, hip hop, rap, and r&b sounds.

Tickets are $25 in advance when purchased from www.Ptix.bm, or $30 at the door. A VIP Group Package is also available at $300 for a group of 4, and includes a bottle of choice with chaser, a plate of food, and access to the Private Lounge area.

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs presents The Latter Days of Mary Prince on Thursday, July 25th.

From 6pm until 8pm at Earl Cameron Theatre, the event will journey through Mary Prince’s life, not only to confirm Prince’s testimony, but also broaden Prince’s story of slavery and freedom.

Guest speaker, Dr. Margôt Maddison-MacFadyen, will point out structures associated with Mary Prince in Bermuda, Grand Turk Island, Antigua, and London (UK), and provide new information about Prince’s mother Susannah, as well as new information about the latter years of Prince’s life.

Following the lecture, there will be an interpretive dance performance of “A Woman Named Prince”, choreographed by Conchita Ming and performed by Arielle Lee Ming, Rhona Pedro, and Sandra Williams.

Admission is free to the public and does not require a ticket.

Buju fans get ready for this year’s Unity Festival Bermuda, hosted by by Jabba and Young Chow of New York’s Hott 97, on Saturday, August 17th.

The festival is from 7pm until 3am at National Sports Center, featuring Buju Banton and friends with an All Star cast including: Wayne Wonder, Assassin aka Agent Sasco, and Masicka.

Local Entertainers include: Jesse Seymour, C Danger, and Live wires, all backed by Bermuda’s own Wall Street Band. Djs for the night will be: Stone Love International, Juggln’ J, DJ I-Breeze, Blackstar and Blacka Nights.

General Admission tickets are $125.

VIP tickets are $300 and include open bar, complimentary selection of food, special VIP gate access, access to front of the stage, dedicated air-conditioned bathrooms, and limited parking at Arboretum (first come).

The Front Street Mile, the opening event of Bermuda Marathon Weekend and first race of the 2020 Bermuda Triangle Challenge, will take place on Friday, January 17th.

The fun-filled, fast paced event starts at 7pm on Front Street, with mile races featuring Primary, Middle School, Senior School students and local adults plus international elite milers. Students and adults who wish to enter must pre-qualify at the Mile Trials on December 13th.

The Bermuda 10k and 10K Walk will take place on Saturday, January 18th. The event will start at 9am and finish at noon, at National Sports Centre.

The 45th Bermuda Marathon & Bermuda Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, January 19th.
The Marathon starts at 7:15am at Royal Naval Dockyard, and the Half Marathon starts at 9am on Front Street, where both races finish.

All courses are certified. The events are organised by the Bermuda National Athletics Association.

The entry fee is $90 for the Marathon, $80 for the Half Marathon, or $165 for the Bermuda Triangle Challenge, Half or Full.
