0723 BEPRO Karaoke for a Cause

BEPRO invite you to join them for a night of fun and laughs at Karaoke for a Cause on Thursday, July 23rd.

From 6pm at Coconut Rock, you can nominate your friends to sing their favourite tune in aid of Windreach.

Entry is free but you should bring cash to nominate.

July 15th, 2015: Bermuda Events Update

Well, I guess we should all start stocking up for Cup Match now as Cup Match Eve is only two weeks from today!  Here is the latest in Bermuda since last week’s post – don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap section at the bottom of this post for details of events which have been covered in previous posts:

 

0715 LCV at Harbour Nights

The Low Country Voices (LCV) of South Carolina are on-island to celebrate their Choir Anniversary and look forward to sharing with the Bermuda community at two separate events.

The first will be a performance at the Flagpole on Front Street at 8pm during Harbour Nights on Wednesday, July 15th.

The Allen Temple Senior Choir will then host the Low Country Voices Ensemble in concert at 7.30pm on Thursday, July 16th.

The LCV Ensemble are a multicultural group comprised of gifted singers from the North Charleston and surrounding areas. They perform a variety of spiritual selections from the African-American tradition and other classical genres in low country style. The LCV is hailed by South Carolinians as one of the areas cultural treasures and were recently selected to provide the special music prior to the funeral of slain US Senator and AME Pastor- Rev. Clementa Pinckney where US President Obama was the eulogist. They also ministered at the final celebrations of others of the slain Emmanuel 9.

A freewill offering will be taken at the concert on the Thursday.

0707 Auguste Rodin, Le Désespoir

Bermuda National Gallery invite you to a must-see short run exhibition in their Private Collection Series from Tuesday, July 7th.

This features an original sculpture by Auguste Rodin, French (1840-1917). The artwork on display, entitled Le Désespoir, c. 1890, forms part of Rodin’s monumental sculpture Gates of Hell. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience an original Rodin.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays, closed on public holidays. The exhibit will run until July 25th.

Admission is $5 for adults and free for BNG members, NARM members, seniors, students and children.

Promising to be a great event for avid teen readers from M1 and up, Blu’s Summer Picks will be on Thursday, July 2nd.

This kick-off of their summer review schedule will run from 6pm until 8.30pm at The Bookmart. KICS Reviews by Blu is an online teen book club produced by a teen and features reviews of some of the popular YA titles every Friday.

Admission is free and there will also be door prizes and snacks.

June 24th, 2015: Bermuda Events Update

Well, the humidity is certainly back with a vengeance but I’m definitely loving this time of year!  Here is the latest lowdown on things to do in Bermuda:

 

0624 Sip n Shop at Dolly Rocks

The Dolly Rocks Pop Up Shop invite you to join them every Wednesday this summer for a Sip ‘n’ Shop event at their location at 129 Front Street.

From 5pm until 7pm, you can try some different wines whilst you peruse their selection of curated vintage clothing and handmade jewellery.

​This will continue weekly until August 12th.
