0513 Cultural Connections with Dr Kuni Frith

Celebrate Heritage Month at the Bermuda National Library as they host Cultural Connections with Dr Kuni Frith on Wednesday, May 13th.

At 6pm, Dr Frith will give a lecture and presentation on the Islamic Arabic Golden Age of Medicine and its Influences on Modern Folk Medicine Globally and in Bermuda.

This event is free but space is limited.

Welcome to the first post of May, the month that we can finally get back in the water!  As always, the events calendar heats up along with the weather – here’s the latest on what’s happening in Bermuda:

 

0506 Saltus Creative Arts Showcase

Check out the talent of some of our local students at Saltus Secondary’s Creative Arts Showcase 2015, which will take place in the Art Gallery on the ground floor of the Gosling Centre on Wednesday, May 6th.

Running from 6pm until 8pm, the show will feature an amazing display of Art and Design Technology work by Saltus Secondary G.C.S.E. and Advanced Placement students.

Parking is available via the main gate off St. John’s Road. The exhibition can be reached via stairs or the elevator in the Gosling Centre, as it is on the field level of that building.

There is no admission fee.

April 29th, 2015: Bermuda Events Update

Morning Kids!

 

Now that April is almost at an end, the Bermuda calendar is really starting to fill up with lots of summer events – here is the latest update on what’s happening:

 

0426 Doors and Windows

Doors and Windows, a members’ juried show featuring original works of art by local artists, opened at the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard on Sunday, April 26th from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.

The show will remain open until May 29th and admission is free. The Arts Centre is open from 11am until 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

0421 Corporate Charity Football Tournament

12 corporate teams will compete for a trophy, as well as the opportunity to win money for their selected charity, at the 6th Annual Corporate Charity Football Tournament starting at the BAA Field on Tuesday, April 21st.

Games are held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7.15pm and 8.30pm until Tuesday, May 19th.

Entry is free for spectators and you can check your team’s dates on the schedule here.

0415 Human Rights Commission

Bermuda National Library invites you to join them for a Lunch and Learn with the Human Rights Commission on Wednesday, April 15th.

Running from noon until 2pm, there will be a short film and presentation with Human Rights Commission Officers Sara Clifford and Kim Williams. Feel free to bring your brown bag lunch.

This event is free but space is limited.
