Morning Troops!

Somehow, we’re already halfway through the last working week in January..  Does anyone else feel like they blinked and missed this whole month? Not to worry, here’s the latest Bermuda fun to make great memories with:

0129 BSAC Bermuda Mystical Caves

Part three of the Bermuda Sub-Aqua Club’s Winter Film Series will be screened at the BSAC Clubhouse in Admirality Park on Wednesday, January 29th at 7.30pm.  This week’s screening will explore a form of SCUBA diving that only highly trained divers are able to experience – cave diving.  Bermuda’s Mystical Caves is a 28 minute local documentary, directed and produced by Sangita Iyer and featuring Dr. Tom Iliffe, Dr. Annie Glasspool and divers Bruce Williams, Leon Kempe and Gil Nolan.  After the film, there will be a discussion with local cave divers.  BSAC has a full bar with pizza and salad available at $10 per plate.  Admission is free.  For more information, contact chairman@bsac.bm or visit www.bsac.bm.

Morning Kids!

Well, it might be Winter but don’t worry, there are still plenty of things to do in Bermuda.  Here’s the latest rundown:

0122 Latin Dancers Delight

Ever wanted to try Latin dance but don’t have time to sign up for a course of lessons? Salsa Friends are offering a more flexible solution with the return of their drop-in Latin Dance Classes for Beginners at their new location in the back bar in Docksider’s.  This class will take place every other Wednesday, starting from January 22nd, running from 8.15pm until 9.15pm.  Instructors are Salsa Friends co-founders Marshall and Teresa.  As first runners up in Bermuda So You Think You Can Dance 2013, this duo is more than qualified to give you a firm foundation that will have you dancing comfortably in just an hour.  All beginners are welcome, no previous experience is necessary and you don’t even need a partner, just some shoes comfortable enough to dance in and a smile.  Classes are $10 per person or $90 for a 10-class card.  No need to hurry home after the class though as the Salsa Friends are also returning to brighten up your Hump Day with Latin Dancer’s Delight in a new location.  This night of Latin music and dance will now be every second Wednesday from January 22nd in the back bar at Docksider’s.  From 9pm until 1am, you can enjoy salsa and bachata all night with no cover charge.  Come early and you can enjoy some food, drink, or even attend the drop-in salsa class from 8.15pm.  There are occasional themes to these parties so you are invited to keep an eye on the Facebook Group Salsa Friends to check. For more details, contact teresa@salsagoddess.me.  You can also check out the full class, workshop and choreography schedule on www.salsagoddess.me.
