Happy Wednesday, hope you’re having a good one.  Another ridiculously long post this week – there are plenty of events in Bermuda over the coming weeks so don’t try complaining to me that you’re bored!

The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) will be holdings its 14th Annual Conference at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on Thursday, February 27th. Registration, breakfast and Meet the Sponsors will start at 8am with opening remarks by His Excellency the Governor, Mr. George Fergusson at 9am. Talks will be given by a range of local and international lawyers from a number of firms, and the day will be rounded off by a cocktail reception at 5.50pm. Morning Troops!

Hope you’re all having a great week so far.  If not, then just celebrate International Tug-of-War day today and I’m sure you’ll feel much better about life!  Looking for an up-to-date listing of things to do in Bermuda?  You’ve come to the right place:

Another great opportunity to listen to entertaining presentations on a variety of topics, without worrying that any of the speakers will waffle on for too long, as the 6th edition of PechaKucha Night Bermuda will be on Thursday, February 20th.  PechaKucha Nights were started in Japan and have a 20×20 presentation format where each speaker shows 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.  Since there is no pausing or going back, speakers have no choice but to keep to their allotted time.   This will take place at Blue Water Anglers Club and speakers include Tommy Sinclair, Abbie Caldas, Aran McKittrick, Carla Marquardt, Ananda Hill, Gordon Johnson, Mhairi Flood, Becky Ausenda, Tiago Garcia, and Mike Davis.  Following each presentation is a 3 minute 40 second Q&A session with the audience.  Doors open at 6pm and presentations begin at 6.30pm.  Admission is free and all are welcome.  There will also be a fish fry during the event for $15 per plate.  For more information, see their Facebook Page here.

Morning Kids!

Hold on to your hats – this is a monster edition!  If you haven’t made arrangements for Valentine’s Day, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got you covered – here’s the latest rundown of Bermuda events, especially those with a love theme.  And don’t forget, if you happen to find yourself with unwanted chocolate after Valentine’s Day, feel free to mail it to Claire, c/o NTDIB’s Secret Underground Lair, Bermuda:

Can’t wait to celebrate Valentine’s Day?  Then grab your date, whether that be a friend or significant other, for Masterworks’ Valentine High Tea Party on Thursday, February 13th.  This will be at 3pm in the Masterworks Members Lounge, where you can relax and enjoy views of the Botanical Gardens at this pre-Valentine’s celebration.  Spaces are limited and the cost is $10, which includes food and a selection of teas.  For more information, or to RSVP, contact mworks@logic.bm or 299-4000.

Morning Ladies and Gents!

Happy World Nutella Day – I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to celebrate this special and delicious holiday!  Hope that perks up your Hump Day – if not, well, here’s the latest rundown of what’s happening in Bermuda:

Interested in a different type of happy hour which will develop both your creativity and your confidence?  Improv Bermuda presents Friday Laffy Hour at CV Cafe on the first Friday of each month, starting this Friday, February 7th. Not just for quick-witted extroverts, teacher Toby Butterfield will guide the play session of facilitated improv games designed for total beginners, in a fun and supportive atmosphere. This will run from 6pm until 8pm and the cost is $5.  CV Cafe will also have wine, beer and other goodies available for purchase. For more information, contact Toby at improvtoby@yahoo.com or 505-7011.
