From 12.30pm until 1.30pm at the Bermuda National Gallery in City Hall, you will hear personally from Biennial artists Michael Walsh and Christina Hutchings, who will share their artistic processes.

Musicians, come and showcase your talents at the weekly Pickled Onion Jam every Tuesday.
From 9.30pm at Pickled Onion, host band Graffiti Park invite you to join the fun by bringing your own instruments or by making use of the drums, keys, guitar and bass provided. All musicians and genres are welcome. Singers, please bring your own lyrics – this is not karaoke!
There is no cover charge and the Jam will run weekly until the end of 2016.

The Women’s Resource Centre, a registered charity, is holding a Quiz Night Fundraiser to sustain their programmes and services on Thursday, November 3rd.
This will run from 6pm at Vasco da Gama. Refreshments will be provided and there will also be a cash bar.
The cost is $30 for individual entry and $500 for corporate teams of 5 to 6.

See life through rose-tinted glasses at the next Bermuda Rose Society Monthly (BRS) Meeting on Friday, November 4th.
This will start at 11am in the Horticultural Hall in the Botanical Gardens and will run monthly on the first Friday of the month until May.
Members are encouraged to enter a monthly rose competition, very much like the Ag Show rose entries. The entries are Bench (cut rose in a bottle) and Arrangements and there is a theme each month. This month, the Bench is Special 20 entry-only Bench, which means members are only allowed to enter 20 classes of roses, one in each class. The arrangement title for November is Classes A & B “Twists and Turns” and Class C is “In a nut shell”.
All of their meetings are open to the public and there is no need to RSVP in advance. If a member of public wants to join BRS they are required to attend two meetings, not necessary in a row, and have a member nominate them to the BRS executive – members are always ready to sponsor a new member.

Get ahead on your Christmas shopping as Ronnie Chameau and Donna Pink invite you to their Christmas Craft Sale on Saturday, November 5th.

The 29th World Rugby Classic starts on Sunday, November 6th, running until Saturday, November 12th.
The First Round Matches will be on Sunday, November 6th, with gates opening at 12.30pm. The first game, Classic Lions vs. Italy, will be at 2.30pm, then Canada vs South Africa at 4pm. The World Rugby Classic is delighted to announce that the Sunday will also be the return of their Family Fun Day. This will include a dedicated Kids Zone with Bouncy Castle, Sniggles Tattoos and a Parents Viewing Area, so that you won’t miss out on all the action. The cost of entry for the Kids Zone is $15 per child.
On Monday, November 7th, gates open at 5.30pm and more First Round Matches will include Argentina vs. United States at 7pm and then France vs. New Zealand at 8.30pm.
After resting up on the Tuesday, gates will open at 5.30pm on the Wednesday. Bermuda will be playing Lloyds RFC at 5.45pm The Plate Semi-Final will start at 7.15pm with Loser A playing Loser B, followed by the Classic Semi-Final with Winner A against Winner B at 8.30pm.
On Thursday, November 10th, gates will again open at 5.30pm. The first game will be the Plate Semi-Final at 7.00pm which will pit Loser C against Loser D, and then the Classic Semi-Final at 8.30pm will have Winner C against Winner D. **UPDATE: Due to the weather, Thursday matches have been postponed until Friday. Gates will open at 12.30pm and the Corporate Hospitality Village will open at 1pm. The first game will be the USA vs France (Plate Semi-Final, Loser C against Loser D) at 2.30pm, and then Argentina vs New Zealand (Classic Semi-Final, Winner C against Winner D) at 4pm. At 7pm, you can enjoy Gosling’s Tent Tavern Entertainment with the Hearbeats.
On Saturday, November 12th, gates will open at 5.30pm, with the Plate Final at 7pm and the Classic Final at 8.30pm.
Fresh from DJ’ing at one of Ibiza’s largest clubs, DJ Dan Ho will be providing the entertainment again this year throughout the week. The new Event Village will be the venue for the new Garden Party on Sunday from 6.30pm and Monday from 9.30pm.
Live entertainment will be available in the Tent Tavern from just after the games (around 9.30pm/10pm) until 1am on the Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights. This year the Kennel Boys performing on the Wednesday night and the long anticipated return of Classic favourites The Heartbeats will be back on stage for the Thursday and Saturday nights. DJ Dan Ho will also be proving music late into the night following both acts.
There are a few different options for admission:
- The Members Tent is the VIP facility at the Classic where they entertain sponsors and invited guests with a magnificent buffet by Fourways, a fine selection of wine by Gosling’s and an Open Bar. Badges for the Members Tent are available for purchase while tables of ten may be reserved with the client’s name prominently displayed. A Five Day Badge cost $1,200 per person. Daily badges are also available at at cost of $250 per day for Sunday and Monday and $300 per day for Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tickets are available from www.pTix.bm.
- The Classic Club tent is the “watering hole” for the visiting players where food and drinks are available at reduced prices. The Five Day Badge costs $650 per person and $1,100 per couple. Daily badges are also available at at cost of $150 per day for Sunday to Thursday and $250 per day for Saturday. Tickets are available from www.pTix.bm.
- General admission is $25 daily or $100 for a 5 Day Pass. These can also be purchased in advance online at www.pTix.bm.
- Admission is free for under-12s and $10 each day for children aged 12 to 15.

Embrace la dolce vita as you support, meet and greet the Italian team in the Club Italia Tent at World Rugby Classic on Sunday, November 6th.
The tent opens at 1pm and the buffet opens at 2pm. The tent will feature a full open bar and DJ Allstar. Classic Italy will be playing the Classic Lions at 2.30pm, followed by South Africa vs Canada at 4pm.
The ticket price is $125.

Join the Bermuda Society for the Blind for their November Vision Talk meeting on Monday, November 14th.
From 6pm in Astwood Hall at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, this monthly discussion group is open to the public and offers information on living with vision loss, and provides opportunities to network, share, and socialize with others in a caring and supportive environment. Transportation is available if you are vision impaired and request it with your RSVP.
November’s topic will be Diabetes and Vision Loss – Exploring The Connection. November 14th is World Diabetes Day and Sara McKittrick, Diabetes Educator for the Bermuda Diabetes Association, will be the guest speaker as they explore the connection between diabetes and vision loss.

The November edition of the monthly Ciné Club from L’Alliance Française des Bermudes will be showing Lolo on Tuesday, November 15th.
Screening in the Tradewinds Auditorium at BUEI at 8pm, this French documentary with English subtitles is from director Julie Delpy and stars Julie Delpy, Dany Boon, Vincent Lacoste.
Lolo tells the story of Violette, a 40-year old workaholic with a career in the fashion industry falls for a provincial computer geek, Jean-Rene, while on a spa retreat with her best friend….

Enjoy a screening of two local films at Bermudian Heartbeats: Film Night on Thursday, November 17th.
From 6pm at BUEI, A Poem Without Words: Visual Artist in Bermuda and About Bermuda: Artist of Bermuda will be screened.
A Poem Without Words: Visual Artist in Bermuda is the first in the Bermuda Culture Documentary Series, produced by the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs. This film features interviews with some of the most relevant artists currently creating work in this island – Graham Foster, James Cooper, Sharon Wilson, Dr. Edwin Smith, Dr. Charles Zuill and Jacqueline Alma.
This will be followed by About Bermuda: The Artist’s Impression, a documentary in Brendon Hollis’ About Bermuda series. This episode focus on visiting artist drawn to Bermuda’s shores who have attempted to capture our architecture, scenery and colour.

The Mid Atlantic Wellness Institute (MWI) presents the 10th Annual 2016 MindFrame PhotoVoice Art Exhibition: Take a Walk in my Shoes, a new exhibit opening at Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA) in City Hall on Friday, November 18th.
This exhibition includes art, photography and creative writing from adults, youth and children who use MWI services. Artwork will be for sale with proceeds going back to the artist as well as to the Mindframe Photovoice Art Program at MWI.
The grand opening will be from 5pm until 7pm at the Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA), City Hall.
Opening hours at BSoA are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays. The exhibit will run until Tuesday, December 6th.
Admission is free, although donations are appreciated, and all are welcome.

The Bermuda High School for Girls is currently accepting applications from those who wish their daughters to sit the Secondary Entrance and Scholarship Examinations on Saturday, November 19th.
These exams are for a September 2017 entry into Year 7. In Years 7 to 11 at BHS, teachers focus solely on how girls learn best. Imagine what your daughter will achieve at a school where the most important thing is what SHE needs.
