Back for a third time, BUEI Screens Presents: Tea with the Dames on Wednesday, November 21st.
What happens when four legends of British stage and screen get together? Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Eileen Atkins, and Dame Joan Plowright are among the most celebrated actresses of our time, with scores of iconic performances, decades of wisdom, and innumerable Oscars, Tonys, Emmys, and BAFTAs between them. They are also longtime friends who hereby invite you to join them for a weekend in the country as they catch up with one another, reminisce, and share their candid, delightfully irreverent thoughts on everything from art to ageing to love to a life lived in the spotlight. Bursting with devilish wit and whip-smart insights, Tea With The Dames is a remarkable opportunity to spend time in the company of four all-time greats-up close and unfiltered. Viewing time is 84 min.
The film begins at 7:30pm in BUEI’s Auditorium. Harbourfront opens for dinner at 6pm and ticket holders are entitled to 10% off dinner (food only) before or after the film. Reservations are required. Want to celebrate Thanksgiving but don’t wish to cook? Well you can be thankful that The Cottage Cafe & Bistro is offering Thanksgiving Dinner Take-Out on Thursday, November 22nd.
From 5pm until 7pm you can pick up a fully-prepared meal; which includes Fresh Roasted Organic Turkey, Cranberry Compote, Cottage Stuffing, Roasted Sweet Potato & Carrot, Local Vegetables, Fresh Baked Bread & Butter and your choice of: Mashed Potato or Cottage Mac ‘n Cheese!

The Island Wide Social Committee would like to give a notice to their senior club members that The RAA Island Wide Social will be held on Friday, November 23rd.
From 12:30 pm at the RAA Club in St. George’s, there will be refreshments and entertainment.
This has been rescheduled from the original event date, November 30th, as was stated on the monthly newsletter.

The Bermuda Economic Development Centre is hosting a Scavenger Hunt for local entrepreneurs and invites you to BE (Bermuda Entrepreneur) a Hunter on Friday, November 23rd.
From 5:30pm until 8:30pm, you can join in this Scavenger Hunt around the City of Hamilton and network with other entrepreneurs to find clues. The starting point is at the BEDC headquarters at Sophia House, 48 Church Street. Gather together a team (maximum of 5) and work together to win some great prizes.
The cost is $30 per person or $135 for a team of 5. Part proceeds will go towards Tomorrow’s Voices Autism Centre.

The Women’s Resource Centre are hosting a special event to strengthen family bonds at Steps Toward Healing: A Mother Daughter Journey on Saturday, November 24th.
Starting at 9am at the Department of Workforce Development, this full day session will provide mothers and daughters of all ages with gentle exploration of past trauma and introduce new patterns of thinking, feeling and communicating with one another.
A light breakfast and lunch will be served.
The cost is $75 for singles, or $125 for mother & daughter. You must register by November 21st.

Time to get your kids’ bikes in tip top shape at Bicycle Works for the 2018/2019 TMR Youth Mountain Bike Series starting on Saturday, November 24th
From 4pm until 5pm at the Arboretum, Participants between the ages of 4-11 can enter for free and will receive a gift bag. There will be a weekly Adventure Course & Skills Training for advanced riders – thanks to FatTire Massive! Participants will also be automatically entered into the draw to win a free bicycle on January 26th, 2019. Helmets & sport shoes are required.
The series will continue at the same time on the following dates: December 1st, January 12th, January 19th, January 26th.

You can dine on a carefully curated menu while listening to an array of Christian music that promises to leave you uplifted and encouraged, as local Bermuda radio show Spiritual Connotations is pleased to present The Rance Allen Group Dinner Concert and Bishops Awards Event on Saturday, November 24th.
Starting at 6pm at Fairmont Southampton’s Mid Ocean Amphitheater, all are welcome to attend this family friendly dinner event. The night will consist of a musical selection by the world famous gospel group, The Rance Allen Group who will headline the event. Also performing that evening is Anthony Whigham, another well-known gospel artist who has performed worldwide including a Carnegie Hall performance. Bermudian gospel artists such as Toni Robinson, Rickeesha Binns and the 3 D-T Band will also be performing throughout the evening. Various local Bishops will be honored at this event for their unwavering community leadership and support with awards.

Join the Corporation of St. George for the Lighting of the Town on Saturday, November 24th.
Starting at 6:30pm at King’s Square, you can watch as the town’s Christmas lights are turned on for the holiday season. There will be musical performances by the Salvation Army Band, Taur and June Caisey, and the Richard Allen Liturgical Dancers. All are welcome to come out and enjoy the evening with a complimentary egg nog.

Enjoy the thrill of racing through Casemates as the Fat Tire Massive Mountain Bike Race Series continues this Sunday, November 25th.
The race course will wind through Casemates, which was once the barracks for the men manning the Dockyard fortifications and Bermuda’s maximum security prison from 1964-94. Continue the race through the National Museum property to the finish line.
Starting at 9am, the Male & Female Open Class will race for a period of 60 minutes, followed by Male & Female Novices and Juniors racing for 30 minutes at 10:15am. Riders aged 12 and under will race for 15-minutes at 11am.
Points Series winner will be the rider with the highest number of accumulated points from their 6 best races in the Fat Tire Massive series.
The cost is $25 per race or $150 per season for all categories. Children and young adults under the age of 19 race for free.

The Women’s Resource Centre and hosting a workshop for men and women entitled: Sexual Harassment: It’s Everybody’s Business on Tuesday, November 27th.

For the first time ever, St. George’s will host their own Christmas Boat Parade on Saturday, December 1st.
Starting at 5pm at the main Town Square, the evening will kick off with a visit from Santa Claus himself and promises to be a fabulous community event filled with candy, music and other fun things for the kiddies.
The boat parade will begin at 6.30, and you are invited to decorate your boat and join the flotilla in St. George’s Harbour to celebrate the festive season, or enjoy the parade from one of the plenty of viewing spots.
The party continues into the night at The Wharf Restaurant & Bar on Somers Wharf, where you can enjoy music provided by DJ Malcolm (aka ‘Lethal Weapon’) Smith.

Now in it’s 12th year of making your sides hurt with laughter, Just for Laughs Bermuda is returning from Wednesday, January 9th until Saturday, January 12th.
The legendary Alonzo Host is coming back to host again, and three international comics will also be performing. Ronny Chieng (Australia) will be performing on all four nights, as well asBermuda’s own Jonathan Young will open the show each night, to warm up your laughter muscles. From Thursday to Saturday; you can also see Rachel Feinstein (USA) and Nathan Macintosh (Canada).
The laughter begins at 8pm at City Hall’s Earl Cameron Theatre on Wednesday with the Double Bill Show. Expect an intimate evening of world-class comedy featuring the legendary Alonzo Bodden, Ronny Chieng (Australia), and Jonathan Young. Come early to enjoy the Open Bar from 7pm until 8pm.
Starting at 8pm on Thursday is the Cabaret Style Show, featuring all of the comics. You can choose from tables of 4,6 or 10. Drinks and finger foods will be available at your table.
The Friday show starts at 9pm at Fairmont Southampton’s Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre and features all of the comics. There is a choice of seating- cabaret-style in front (with drink service at your table) or theatre-style on levels 2 and 3.
