The Bermuda National Gallery presents Michael Walsh at the next event in their ongoing lecture series, on Thursday, October 24th. **UPDATE: Postponed until November 14th**
Join them at the gallery on the second floor of City Hall, for the an in-depth look at this Bermudian artist’s work, and the inspiration behind his engaging sculptures, performances and drawings.
The event begins with a reception at 5:30pm, followed by the lecture at 6pm.

Mix and award-winning Swedish bartender with an award-winning Swedish chef and get The Great Culinary Cocktail Celebration at Marcus’ – running from Friday to Sunday, October 25th to 27th.
The Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club invites you to meet one of the world’s best bartenders: Dosa Ivanov, Double Gold Medal Winner, World Cocktail Championships 2015. He will be at the restaurant with Marcus Samuelsson all weekend, creating new cocktails using local ingredients from Wadson’s Farms and Goslings.
On Friday, from 5pm until 9pm it’s Happy Hour with Marcus & Dosa. Join them for one of Dosa’s latest Bermuda inspired creations. Complimentary bar bites will be passed as you enjoy the sounds of the Big Chill. There is no cover charge. Donations will be accepted for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On Saturday, from noon until 2pm, you can join Dosa as he demonstrates how he makes his cocktails to Learn How He Does It! You’ll get a chance to make them too! And enjoy a family style lunch created by Chef Danai. From 7pm until 10pm they will host The Cocktail Dinner Experience. In a twist from a classic wine pairing, Marcus has created a special menu inspired by the outstanding flavours in Dosa’s specialty cocktails and creative juice pairing, so everyone can enjoy.
The cost to join the Cocktail Demonstration & Lunch is $95. The cost of the Cocktail Pairing Dinner is $120, The Juice Pairing Dinner is $95. To attend the Cocktail Demonstration & Lunch, plus Dinner is $165. Tickets are available at www.Ptix.bm.
The weekend will wrap up on Sunday at Marcus’ Brunch Revolution from noon until 3pm. Dosa will create cocktails inspired by those served at a traditional Swedish Brunch, to complement the outstanding buffet. The cost is $54 for Brunch only, $94 for Champagne Brunch, or $220 for Dom Brunch.

Alexandra Mosher Studio Jewellery will host a Sip & Shop for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in support of Project Pink, on Friday, October 25th.
From 5:30pm until 7:30pm, you can enjoy rosé donated by Gosling’s and nutritious finger foods provided by Pink Onion, while shopping in the AMSJ Flagship store on Front Street.

The Yoga Centre on Victoria Street is offering a 4-week Inversions Intensive course starting on Saturday, October 26th.
Each week from 11:30pm until 1pm, the 90 minute class will focus directly on shoulderstand and headstand as peak poses; however many variations plus support poses to help build strength, develop confidence and build student understanding of the anatomy required to improve one’s ability in doing these poses are key to this course intensive.
This is a Yoga Alliance certified course. Members of Yoga Alliance receive 6 credit hours when taking this course.
The cost is $150 and registration is now open.

Little Tiger’s Martial Arts presents Bermuda Dragons Warriors Obstacle Challenge on Sunday, October 27th.
The event is from 1pm until 4pm at the Warwick Academy Gym, and all children between the ages of 5 and 12 are invited to compete.
The DWOC consists of 10 challenging obstacles designed to test the fittest, the most humble, and the fastest – and bring out true grit in all warrior participants. A DWOC participant will also have to exercise a degree of strategy and focus to complete the challenge.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female winners in each category.
The cost to enter is $25 per warrior, or $20 each if you sign up with a group of 5 or more. Registration is open online at www.BermudaDragonWarriors.com. Partial proceeds will help to fund the BHS’s Year 10-12 Class Educational Japan Tour.

Bar-Train BDA & The Bermuda College PACE division brings you a ghoulish night of cocktails at the Crimson Moon Bartenders Competition on Wednesday, October 30th.
Running from 6:30pm until 9:30pm at Coco Reef, the competition features the college’s Fall 2019 Bartenders Class. Students in the class will prepare classic drinks with enough twists to give you a fright!
All are welcome … if you dare. Costumes are encouraged.
There is no cover charge. The signature drink is $5.

There are three remaining opportunities to celebrate Halloween with Haunted History In Ye Olde Ghost Town on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday, October 30th, 31st or November 2nd.

Enjoy the opening night of the 2019 Rugby Classic in style in the Renegades Rugby Club Tent on Saturday, November 2nd.
Tickets for the club’s hospitality tent include an open bar for the evening, food, and a prime view of the games. They will also have lots of great raffle prizes from Cambridge Beaches, Lucky Elephant, Goslings and more! One raffle ticket comes free with admission. Extra strips of raffle tickets can be purchased at $5 each.
Gates open at 5:45pm and food will be served in the tent from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. The match schedule for that day starts at 7:15pm with Rugby Canada vs Rugby Italian XV, followed by Classic Pumas vs France Classic Rugby at 8:30pm.

The Yoga Centre on Victoria Street is starting a new 6-Week Yoga Course for Low Back Health on Tuesday, November 5th.
Yoga works from the inside out. In this program you will learn how to dismantle tightly-woven patterns of contraction to relieve chronic and intermittent low back pain and to prevent future injuries. No previous Yoga experience is required.
Classes are every Tuesday from 5:30pm until 7pm, at the centre at 7 Victoria Street. The course finishes on December 10th.
The cost of the series is $175. Yoga for Low Back Health is taught by a Yoga Alliance RYT500, Essential Yoga Therapy Therapist-in-Training, certified Essential Low Back Program instructor.

The Yoga Centre on Victoria Street is hosting a Satsang on Trauma & Spirituality on Friday, November 8th.
Satsang means “good company”. It is an opportunity to come listen to a video of a particular speaker, drink tea and share in community with other like minded people. At this Satsang you will hear from James Finley, a clinical psychologist, who will talk about Trauma and Spirituality. Finley is a direct student of Thomas Merton and a major presenter of The Living School with Richard Rohr. Finley has a beautifully poetic and compassionate way to help us face life’s difficulties.
The event is from 7:30pm until 9:30pm, and is of particular interest to those interested in meditation and/or contemplative prayer.

Mayvera Wellness invites all ladies to join them for a Girls Day Out at the Kiskadee Villa on North Shore Road, on Saturday, November 9th.
There are a number of options for women and girls to partake in, starting with Breakfast with a Twist for Two, from 9am until noon, followed by Afternoon Tea with a Twist for Two, from 1pm until 4pm, and then Dinner with a Twist for Two from 5pm until 8pm.
Each package is for a pair or duo, and involves a day of bonding, building, reflecting, fun and food. It is suitable for all women and girls age 10 and up. The goal is to bring everyone together; mother-daughter, big sister-little sister, aunt-niece, cousins, mentor-mentee, and friends.

Each pair will receive 6-week bonding take-away tasks to complete together, geared towards healing and building relationships; as well as a 30-minute individual virtual check-in session with the facilitator to review take-away tasks and offer support to complete/review the outcome.

All are invited to Generation Zapped, a talk by BAST (Bermuda Advocates for Safe Technology), hosted by the Bermuda College Eco Club, on Wednesday, November 13th.
The talk is from 7pm until 8:30pm in the Bermuda College Auditorium, located on the second floor in the North Hall. Join to learn from experts Dr. David Carpenter and Dr. Paul Heroux, about the invisible hazards of wireless technology, and easy ways to protect yourself and family.
Dr. David Carpenter is Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, at the University of Albany. His research interests include: Ionizing and non-ionizing radiation biology; Effects of air pollution on respiratory function; Exposure to organic pollutants and risks of diabetes and cardiovascular disease; and Cognitive and behavioral effects of environmental contaminants on children.
Dr. Paul Heroux is Associate Professor at McGill University Faculty of Medicine’s Occupational Health Program where he teaches in the Health Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation. He has served as a consultant to the Telecom Industry on microwave electromagnetic fields.

The Town of St. George’s invites all to come and join them once again for this year’s St. George’s Boat Parade on Saturday, November 30th.
The parade will take place from 6:30pm until 9:30pm in St. George’s Harbour, and mariners are invited to decorate their boat and enter for a chance to win a spectacular array of prizes!
Spectators will enjoy a night of fun and entertainment, including vendors, shopping, music, a Kids’ Zone, and an after party at The Wharf.
