Bermuda Blades Fencing Club along with The Bermuda Fencing Federation invites you to join them for Fencing each Wednesday night.
This will be from 7.30pm until 9pm at St. Paul’s Church Hall. Classes are ongoing for ages 9 and over, and all equipment is supplied for beginners. This is open to all levels of fencers so if you have previously done Fencing and would like to take it up again, then you are also welcome to come along. All 3 weapons are used – épée, foil and saber.

Fall in love with dolphins at Dolphin Quest’s Dolphin Duo Special this month.
Bring a friend or family member and share a half hour programme featuring an in-water dolphin experience followed by a dip in their hot tub. This special is only for the month of February and offered daily at 2pm and 2.20pm.

Andrew Stevenson, winner of The Prince of Wales’ Commonwealth Environmental Photography Awards, shows some of his latest aerial videos and photographs taken over the past few months. One video received 10,000 views in one day on Facebook. This promises to be an event not to be missed.
The lecture will start at 7.30pm in the Tradewinds Auditorium and Harbourfront are offering a 10% discount (food only) to anyone dining there before or after the event. The St. George’s Club invite you to amp up your date night by joining them in Griffin’s Bistro for Forgotten Oldies Fridays Dinner and Dance on Fridays until the end of March.

Enjoy an an evening with Improv Bermuda, in support of The St. George’s Foundation, at Hilarity for Charity on Friday, February 19th.
Imagine the TV show Whose Line is it Anyway? but live and using local references to create comedic mayhem. This is what happens at Improv Bermuda shows and for the first time the troupe will be performing in St. George’s.
The evening will begin with drinks from 7pm at the Donation Bar, followed by the show from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Why not have dinner in the old town afterwards?
Performers for the St. George’s show will be Julia Pitt, Catherine Hay, Spencer Quarterly, Chris Dye, Gavin Carter and Toby Butterfield. Every moment of the show will be inspired by audience suggestions so come ready to hoot and holler all in the name of charity and a very special 400 year old town.

Bermuda Heart Foundation are hosting their 1st Annual Bermuda Indoor Rowing Challenge on Saturday, February 20th. **UPDATE: This event has been postponed until further notice**
From 9am in the BAA Gymnasium, teams of 5 boys/girls/men/women challenge themselves to row a specified distance with the scores created by collective team times. 10 to 14 year olds will row 500 metres, 15 to 18 year olds will row 1000 metres, and those aged 19 and over will row 2000 metres. There will be prizes to be won.
The registration fee is $50 and participants are also being asked to be pledged.

Promising a Big People’s Dance, Reality Sound presents Red, Gold and Green on Saturday, February 20th.
From 10pm until 3am at Ocean View Golf Club, you can expect a night of rockers and rub a dub, featuring Reality Sound, Jahlife and Stalwart Sound.

The Bermuda Arts Centre is offering two workshops with Cynthia Rosen – a Still Life Workshop on Wednesday, February 24th and a Figurative Workshop on Thursday, February 25th.
This will be from 6pm until 9pm at DNA Creative Shoppe and you are invited to feel free to use your choice of medium. Composition will be the first decision made; accurate perspective second, but the use colour in developing the image will be emphasised. Values, cool vs warm, and the mixing of colours as well as their application will be discussed. A brief demo will be made in oils, combining brush and knife.
The cost per workshop is $55 for members or $64 for non-members.

The latest in the BUEI Talks series will be an evening of stories from the frontline of the world’s worst refugee crisis at Syrian & Iraqi Refugees by Tara Sutton on Thursday, February 25th.
Award-winning, international film maker and journalist Tara Sutton will take us beyond the headlines by sharing her experiences working with Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Amman, Jordan as part of the Collateral Repair Project. The Collateral Repair Project is a grass roots charity based in Amman, Jordan that helps those fleeing war in neighbouring countries to rebuild their lives. Tara will also screen two films she made in August, intimate portraits of families who allowed her inside their lives last summer.

There will be a great opportunity for artists to hone their skills at a Palette Knife Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, February 27th and 28th.

Support your favourite charity and register for the 7th Annual Argus Walks the Walk with The Centre on Philanthropy 5K Fun-Walk on Sunday, February 28th.
From 8am, the Walk will start and finish in front of the Argus Building on Wesley Street. Since the first walk in 2010, over $156,000 has been raised for Bermuda’s registered charities.
The registration fee is $25 and $20 goes to the charity of your choice with the other $5 going to support www.Volunteer.bm, Bermuda’s only volunteer recruitment website. Participants are encouraged to form teams to raise even more money for their charity.

The days of piracy return to Bermuda, but this time is all in the name of an excellent community cause, at the Bermuda Sloop Foundation’s Pirates of Bermuda event on Saturday, March 5th.
This event will take place at Number 1 Dock on Front Street from 2pm until 5pm. As in the 18th century, privateers aboard STV Spirit of Bermuda have been authorised by letters of marque to kidnap more than 50 community members for their riches. Donations can be put towards freeing a hostage OR gleefully witnessing the Walking of the Plank straight into the chilly waters of Hamilton Harbour. The public is invited to come and witness their fate.
Hostage contributions can be made online at www.pTix.bm. All ransom funds raised from this event help ensure the continued operation of Bermuda Sloop Foundation’s Expeditionary Learning Programmes on board STV Spirit of Bermuda.

Learn tips and tricks of how to make amazing prints without a lot of material, mess or cost at Printing Without a Press with Raziya Swan on Sunday, March 13th.
This workshop will run from 10.30am until 1pm at the Bermuda Arts Centre in Dockyard and students will take home carved stamps (as many as they can make depending on how fast they work and the amount of speedy carve block they bring).
Participants will learn how to carve their own stamps using carving tools and easy to cut rubber plates; make and take away their own hand- carved rubber stamps; and watch demonstrations how to make their own printmaking plates using Styrofoam trays, foam sheets, cardboard, hot glue and other found and household items (rubber matting, lace etc.)
The cost is $25 for members, $35 for non-members, and the deadline to register is on Sunday, March 6th.

The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard are opening their Members’ Show, featuring anything and everything to do with the theme Green on Sunday, March 13th.
The opening reception will be from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.
The show will remain open until April 15th and admission is free. The Arts Centre is open daily from 11am until 4pm, except for Good Friday and Christmas Day, and is wheelchair accessible. From January 1st, the Arts Centre will be closed on Mondays.
