International Women’s Club of Bermuda will present their Annual Art Exhibition on Friday, March 8th.

The opening reception is from 5:30pm until 7:30pm at The Gallery at CHUBB, where you can view and/or purchase original artwork & photographs that have donated by IWC members. All proceeds from sales will be donated to local Bermudian charities.

The exhibition will open for general viewing on Monday, March 11th. It will remain open daily, from 10am until 4pm, until Friday, March 15th.

February 27th, 2019 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good Morning Bermuda, 

It’s already the end of February, can you believe it? Loquats are ripening, freesias are blossoming, and Spring is officially in the air – so be sure to spend some time outside to celebrate this new season. Here’s your weekly update with all of the latest events that have been added to the Bermuda Calendar since last week. Impact Mentoring Academy presents their Annual Spoken Word Night on Saturday, March 2nd.

Doors open at 6:30pm at the Berkeley Institute Cafetorium, and from 7pm until 10pm, Impact Students will present a selection of speeches and poems in their own words. This year’s speeches will be based on the topic ‘My Bermuda, 10 Years from Now’. There will also be a Silent Auction and Raffle.

Tickets are $20 adults, and $10 for children 14 and under.
Tickets can be purchased from Staff, Students, and PTA of Impact Mentoring Academy or online at www.Bdatix.bm.

Proceeds raised through this initiative will help to send a group of IMA Students on their Annual Community Service Tour.

Because good champagne never goes out of style, Marcus’ is hosting a Vintage Champagne Dinner on Friday, February 22nd.

From 7pm until 9:30pm at the restaurant at the Hamilton Princess hotel, you are invited to toast with celebrated champagne and decadent dishes. A four-course meal will be matched with the perfect vintage champagne, including; Dom Perignon, Veuve Cliquot, and Ruinart.

The cost is $225 per person, plus gratuities.

Happy Hump Day Bermuda! 

We are at the heart of love month and today’s post includes a variety of Valentine’s Day events for you to consider. So without further adieu, here is your weekly update with all of the latest events that have been added to the Bermuda Calendar since last week. You’re invited to a Show Opening at Masterworks: Secrets Within a Sketch on Friday, February 15th.

This dual show will be on display in the Rick Faries Gallery, showing works by Masterworks Education Coordinator Nuno Patricio, and well-known local artist Emma Ingham.

The Opening Reception is from 5:30pm until 7pm. Admission is free and donations are welcome. All pieces will be available for sale.

The show will run until Tuesday, March 12th.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and the gallery is temporarily closed on Sundays. Masterworks is closed on public holidays.  General admission is $5, or free for members and children under 12.

BUEI Talks presents: Lifting the Veil on Iran with Scott Stallard on Thursday, February 7th.

In 2016 Scott travelled over a thousand miles around the Islamic Republic of Iran. He photographed and filmed in the great ancient cities of Isfahan, Yazd, Shirazz, Tehran, and historic sites of Persepolis, Yasuj and Abyaneh. This is a magnificent country with a five thousand year history highlighting the people, waterfalls, bazaars, fortresses, mosques, wind towers and elaborate gardens and architecture. A rich cultural heritage that should not be missed.

There will be a door prize on the night for a $250 travel voucher courtesy of Watlington Conyers Travel.

The talk begins at 7:30pm in the Tradewinds Auditorium.

At 5pm, Harbourfront opens for Sushi Happy Hour and À la Carte Menu dining and ticket holders are entitled to 10% off dinner (food only) before or after the event. Reservations required. Please call 295-4207 for reservations and be sure to mention the film. Cannot be combined with any other special offers.
