March 4th, 2015: Bermuda Events Update

Happy March, Boys and Girls!

NTDIB Spring Forward

Longer sunny days are almost here – don’t forget to Spring Forward this Sunday!  Although, saying that, I don’t remember the last time I actually had to manually change the time on anything since all my devices seem to update automatically now.  If you are lucky enough to have a proper clock or watch, don’t forget to wind it on – for the rest of us, let’s just be vaguely aware that there has been a time change and enjoy the extra sunlight.

Lots of things are going on in Bermuda in the Spring so let’s get down to it:

Morning Troops!

Well, we’re almost at the end of this short month – isn’t it nice that it’s almost payday already?  I also detect slight hints of Spring in the air – the evenings are definitely getting lighter already and the clocks go forward in less than 2 weeks!  The Bermuda calendar is also filling up with lots of great events so check out what’s coming up:

0226 Saltus Our Countrys Good

Enjoy a story of hope, love, and the power of theatre as the Saltus Grammar School Secondary Department presents their own production of Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Our Country’s Good from Thursday, February 26th until Saturday, February 28th.

This Olivier Award winning play is about a very dark period in British history. Set in Australia in 1787, the play explores the lives of the British convicts who were sent there as punishment for their crimes, and captures the lives of the Royal Marines whose job it was to maintain order and build the first British colony. Bermuda’s dockyard was, in part, built by British convicts on their way to Australia in the 1800s; therefore, the play offers a fascinating link with Bermuda’s international colonial past.

Showtime will be at 7pm in Alumni Hall each evening.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, and are available from Saltus Reception by calling 292-6177.
