Greenrock is giving us a number of ways to show our love for Mama Earth this year at the Earth Hour Expo in Dockyard on Saturday, March 30th.

Starting as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007, Earth Hour is now the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature. From pushing for environmentally-friendly laws and policies to eliminating single use plastics, our individual actions make Earth Hour possible.

Since 2008, Greenrock’s acknowledgement of Earth Hour has evolved into an annual educational campaign, a host of fun-filled family activities and a public celebration. From 4pm until 7pm, you can partake in a 5k Run, 25K Ride, 5K Glow Walk, or a Glow and Flow Yoga class at this Earth Hour Expo, which will be held in Dockyard and hosted by WEDCO. This year the theme is Energy Efficiency.

Earth Hour is also an important fundraiser for Greenrock. Funds raised for this event support their environmental education programs, public advocacy work and position as Bermuda’s premiere sustainability NGO.

Each event is $25 to participate. To register, visit www.RaceDayWorld.com. Pricing is structured for discounts when entering into more than one event.

Back by popular demand for a third showing, BUEI Screens & Crimestoppers presents: The Favourite on Tuesday, April 2nd.

Early 18th century. England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving. When a new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing and Abigail sees a chance at a return to her aristocratic roots. As the politics of war become quite time consuming for Sarah, Abigail steps into the breach to fill in as the Queen’s companion. Their burgeoning friendship gives her a chance to fulfil her ambitions and she will not let woman, man, politics or rabbit stand in her way. (Rated R)
