June 12th, 2019 Bermuda Calendar Update
Good Morning Bermuda,
Whose looking forward to the long weekend?! There are a lot of exciting events coming up so maybe plan on getting out of your comfort zone, to mix, mingle, and welcome the summer vibes.
So without any further adieu, here is an update with all of the latest events to the Bermuda Calendar since last week. Be sure to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of this post as well, for a FULL listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered on past posts.

The Loren hotel invites you to join them weekly for Thursdays with DJ Felix On The Disk, starting on June 13th.
From 6pm until 10pm at the restaurant in Tucker’s Town, you can enjoy good music, stunning ocean views, and weekly food and drink specials.
There is no cover charge.
This event will continue every Thursday throughout August.

P.A.L.S suggest that you don’t bother with cooking at the start of your holiday weekend, but instead come out and support their Fish Fry fundraising event on Friday, June 14th.
From 4pm until 8:30pm at St.Mark’s Church in Smith’s, you can drive though or eat in, in support of Bermuda’s only home cancer care charity. The menu is provided by Keith’s Kitchen and includes fish, fries, beans and rice, coleslaw, cake and a bottle of water.
The cost is $25 per person. Only 450 meals will be served. To purchase tickets in advance, contact 236-7257.

Join Bermuda Wine Concierge aboard M/Y Play Pen for Cellar Treasure Cruises on Friday, June 14th and Thursday, June 27th.
The yacht departs from Albuoy’s Point at 6pm, for a two-hour wine tasting cruise into the sunset with unique, boutique wines from Pitt & Co.’s selection. Gourmet canapés, prepared by Executive Chef Sam Crew from Arugula catering, will complete your relaxing evening on Bermuda’s majestic waters.
The cost per cruise is $135 per person.

The Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports, The Hon. Lovitta Foggo, JP, MP, cordially invites you to attend Bermuda National Heroes: A Tribute on Saturday, June 15th.
Running rom 6pm until 7:30pm at the World Heritage Centre in St. George’s, the event will feature community tributes and musical selections. Light refreshments will be served.
This is a free event.

The next event in the Bermuda National Gallery Lecture Series featuring Jacqueline Alma: Like A Tree Let The Dead Leaves Drop will be held on Thursday, June 20th.
Jacqueline Alma is a local/international artist whose dynamic exhibition “Like a Tree Let The Dead Leaves Drop” is currently on display at the BNG featuring drawings, paintings and digital works informed by her life and experiences.
As part of her presentation Jacqueline will give a behind the scenes look at her detailed process and background to the works in the exhibition, as well as her ongoing portrait work.
The event starts at 5:30pm with a reception in the Bermuda National Gallery in City Hall, followed by a lecture at 6pm.
Tickets are $20 for BNG Members, $30 for Non-Members and are available to purchase online at BdaTix.bm.

Shhh…. it’s a secret! The first annual meet-up of a Secret Supper Club: Ginger Beer & Plates will take place on Saturday, June 29th.
The supper club has been organised with the philosophy that pretty much everything is better when it’s a secret. From 7pm until 10pm, those “in the know” can enjoy the excitement of an exclusive dinner, at an unknown location, to be revealed along with the menu, just a few days before.
The price is $145 and includes a buffet dinner, two drinks, gratuities, entertainment, door raffle and themed party favors.
