Lucky Elephant Wellness invites you to join their Holistic Health Coach and Personal Trainer, Jill Bennett, in her monthly series called Nourish which will focus on the topic of Sleep on Wednesday, June 19th.

What could be more nourishing than sleep? We all know we need sleep to feel sharper, have energy for our day, calm food and alcohol cravings, regulate our moods, loose or maintain healthy weight, and so on. Sleep may be that fountain of youth we all seek…and it can also feel as elusive and complicated. During this month’s Nourish session, you will discuss and explore some of the science and nuances of sleep, the blockages to healthy sleep, powerful sleep hygiene habits and practical tools to create the environment where sleep can arrive.

The lecture is from 5:30pm until 6pm at Lucky Elephant Wellness. The Nourish series occurs on the third Wednesday of every month.

The cost is $25 per person, or $20 for annual members.

For more information, contact info@luckyelephantwellness.com and 296-3262.

Stonewall Uprising explores events surrounding the three day protest by members of the LGBT community following a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, Manhattan on June 28, 1969. In this American Experience documentary, those who took part in the historic event share their story and describe what essentially led to a world-wide human rights movement that remains relevant today.

Back for a second showing, BIFFFlix Presents: Amazing Grace, the Aretha Franklin documentary, on Wednesday, June 26th.

In 1972, at the height of her musical powers, Aretha Franklin recorded the album, Amazing Grace, at Reverend James Cleveland’s New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Watts, Los Angeles. She was accompanied by the Southern California Community Choir in front of a lively audience/congregation. The record became the best-selling gospel album of all time. The recording was filmed for a documentary, but it has never been released – until now! Forty-seven years later, the film is a testimony to the greatness of Aretha Franklin and a time machine window into a moment in American musical and social history.

The film (rated G) starts at 6:30pm at Specialty Cinema, and is 87 min long.

Tickets are $15 and available from www.Ptix.bm or at the Speciality Cinema Box Office.
