Morning Kids!

Today is definitely meant for some celtic-style celebration – not only is today Robert Burns Day, but it is also officially Irish Coffee Day!  If your boss questions why you are adding booze to your morning cup of joe, just tell them that I said it’s okay…

January 4th, 2017 Bermuda Calendar Update

Happy New Year, Ladies and Gents!

Hope that you all managed to enjoy the holiday and that 2017 has been treating you well so far.

January is traditionally a quieter time of year but, never fear, there is still plenty to do in Bermuda – here are the latest additions to Bermuda’s calendar since the last post in 2016.  As always, don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of the post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.

Dine at Fairmont Southampton during Restaurant Weeks and experience the flavours of the resort’s best restaurants at prices that won’t take a bite out of your wallet.

With a longer run than Bermuda Tourism’s general Restaurant Weeks, this will be available from Thursday, January 5th until Thursday, February 9th, when you can enjoy a three-course dinner – appetiser, entree and dessert – at one fabulous prix-fixe price.

Dine on tenderloin medallions or Atlantic Salmon at the renowned Waterlot Inn for $52 per person.  The full menu can be viewed here.

At Newport, a Gastropub, find your favourites like pork ribs or a Cajun grouper sandwich for just $42 per person.  The full menu can be viewed here.

Get passionate about Italian at Bacci and choose grilled Branzino or a pasta entrée for $32 per person.  **UPDATE:  Bacci will be closed from January 16th until February 8th and will not be participating in Restaurant Weeks**

Jasmine Lounge will also be serving lunch – order an app and a fried snapper sandwich or margarita pizza for just $22 per person.  The full menu can be viewed here.

Terms and conditions apply and the 17% gratuity is additional.

December 21st, 2016 Bermuda Calendar Update

Morning Kids!

Well, it’s that time of year again!  This is my last post of 2016 so I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas for Sunday and a very Happy New Year when it comes!  And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, then I hope you enjoy the happy vibes at this time of year. Be good to each other and I hope 2017 is your best year yet!  There is still time to leave your mark on 2016 as well so why not get out there and do something memorable?

My next post will be on Wednesday, January 4th. Events can still be added to the calendar, as usual, through the Submit Your Event section in the meantime.

Anyway, down to the latest update on what’s happening in Bermuda.  Check out all your NYE options on the Calendar here or see the Quick Recap at the end of the post for a handy list (keep your eye on the calendar itself for submissions made after this post is published).  As always, this post includes an update on everything added to the calendar since the previous week, while the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of the post is a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.

Hope to see lots of you on Elbow Beach with your Santa hats on!

Keep the Christmas magic going beyond the day itself at BUEI Films presents The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker on Thursday, December 29th at 5pm

The screening will be at 5pm in the Tradewinds Auditorium.  In Peter Wright’s classic production for The Royal Ballet, the stage sparkles with theatrical magic – a Christmas tree grows before our eyes, toy soldiers come to life to fight the villainous Mouse King and Clara and the Nutcracker are whisked off to the Kingdom of Sweets on a golden sleigh. Tchaikovsky’s score contains some of ballet’s best-known melodies, from the flurrying Waltz of the Snowflakes to the dream-like Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy – all brilliantly set in Wright’s choreography.  The running time is 135 minutes with one interval.

This production features Bermuda’s own Ravi Cannonier-Watson – come and meet Ravi at this special event!

The cost is $20 for BUEI members, $25 for non-members and $10 for students.  Part proceeds to help with Ravi’s school expenses at The Royal Ballet.

For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 294-0204 or visit the Oceans Gift Shop at BUEI. Continue reading this post…
