November 7th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda! 

Here’s your weekly update with all of the latest events that have been added to the Bermuda Calendar since last week. Be sure to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of this post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.

Three new exhibits are opening at the Bermuda Society of Arts in City Hall on Friday, November 9th.

Kevin Morris returns for a solo exhibition of mixed in the Onions gallery: Paintings by Kevin Morris, all paintings in mixed media.

Edinburgh Gallery will host an exhibition by artist Carmen Domarco and all new works in mixed media.

Apples from the Tree a unique exhibition of art by Vivienne Gardner and daughter will be showing in Studios A & B, as well as a fascinating display of seven generations of family art.

The opening reception is from 5-7pm on Friday, November 9th. All shows will run until December 3rd.

BSoA is a non-profit charity and as such admission to the gallery is free; however donations are always welcome.

Opening hours at BSoA are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays.

October 31st, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Bermuda National Gallery Early Years Programme and the Bermuda National Library Youth Services are collaborating to host the community event: Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood on Thursday, November 1st.

All nurseries, preschools and families with children between the ages of 2 and 4, are invited to join for an Early Years Session with singing and dancing. This event is inspired by the book by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell, and there will be a special reading of the book “Maybe Something Beautiful” by Mrs. Kristin Burt, BNG Honorary Patron of Art Education.

The event is from Noon until 1pm on the City Hall Front Lawn.

Admission is free. All registered school groups will receive an art & literacy gift package from BNG and BNL.

October 24th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda, 

It’s starting to get chilly now, time to unpack those sweaters and start prepping for the holiday season! Here are all the latest events that have been added to the Bermuda Calendar since last week. Join The Sugar Shack Cake & Bake Shop for Womb Connection: The Sweetest You on Thursday, October 25th.

Starting at 5:30pm, this event comes just in time for All Hallows Eve and Dia del Muerte. It offers another great opportunity to meet, network and learn from your fellow female entrepreneurs and business leaders. Featuring a host of bakers and sweet makers, with a life coach or two to put the icing on the cake.

The cost of this event is $20 which includes nibbles and refreshments. There will also be $5 raffles for sale.

October 17th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda!

Here’s your weekly update with all of the latest events that have been added to the calendar since last week. It’s nearly time for tricks and treats and there are lots of ways to celebrate Halloween this year no matter your age! Be sure to also check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of this post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.

 

Join Miranda Conway of Luxury Gifts, and her pink baby bump for a shopping night in support of Breast Cancer Awareness at Babes Supporting Babes on Thursday, October 18th.

From 6pm until 8pm in the retail wing of Hamilton Princess, you can browse through the sale racks and purchase fashionable clothes and gifts, all for a good cause. Participating stores include Luxury Gifts FH (For Him), FH (For Her) and Resort.

Event attendees are also welcome to book a table after the event at Marcus’ or Crown and Anchor and enjoy 15% off dinner. There will also be raffle prizes, refreshments and nibbles.

You are invited to Celebrate Pink at The Young Men’s Social Club’s Blue Diamond Lounge on Wednesday, October 10th.

The celebration is from 6pm until 10pm, and you can expect raffles, games, snacks & drinks, and a prize-giving for the most fabulous pink outfit.

There is no cover charge although donations will be accepted at the door. Raffle tickets are $5 each. Part proceeds of the event will go to the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
