Hope you all had a wonderful Cup Match and have fully recovered by now!  If you haven’t fully recovered yet then you probably want to get yourself checked out by a doc as it was kinda a long time ago..

 

Ten are offering some live entertainment tonight as M. Brian Swan (live samples, groove box and bass) and Nicola Swan (vocals), also known as 1Undread, will be performing from 6pm until 10pm. The Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society (BMDS) presents their latest production, Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine, for a limited run of three nights only from Thursday, August 9th until Saturday, August 11th. This show will see Carol Birch reprise her much-acclaimed role as the title character is this comedy-drama. Showtime is at 8pm each evening and tickets cost $25 from www.bmds.bm or from their box office on 292-0848. If you like your comedy to be a little more off-the-cuff than the norm, get yourself along to The Improvised Comedy Cup Match 2012 – St Gorgeous vs. Some R Phat on Thursday, August 16th. From 8pm at Daylesford Theatre, two teams will compete to see who can come up with the best and funniest scenes, making it up as they go along based on audience suggestions (like in the show Whose Line is it Anyway?).  Tickets are $15 and available online at www.bmds.bm/improv or at the BMDS Box Office from 6pm on the night of the show. Hot on the heels of the success of their Pig in the Park and Fish in the Park Parties, Lemon Tree have decided to milk it a little more and bring us something even more a-mooo-sing! Friday, August 17th will be the date of their Cow in the Park Party, which will run from 5pm until midnight. T-shirts are $25, which includes Mini Beef Pies, Bacardi Oakheart Beef Jerky, Red Skinned Southern Style Smashed Potato Salad and Bacardi Oakheart Baked Beans and free rides on the Electrical Bull (you must be wearing your shirt to ride).  **UPDATE:  Lemon Tree Cafe are offering Bacardi Oakheart-flavoured menu items in the run up to the Party on Friday – here’s the menu or see their Facebook Page here**  Men’s and women’s t-shirts are available and they suggest that you grab the bull by the horns and get your t-shirts early to be sure of getting your size – here’s the flyer!

 

Didn’t quite get your fill of boating and boozing at the Non-Mariners?  Good news, Drunken Sailors, the Robin Hood FC Booze Cruise will be on Friday, August 17th.  This will be on board the Elizabeth with an open bar and music by Lifestyles Entertainment and Supatone.  The boat leaves Albuoys Point at 8pm sharp, returning at 11pm.  Tickets are $55 and available from www.ptix.bm or RHFCBermuda@gmail.com – here’s the flyer!

 

 

 

 

Whether you’re an artist/crafter, or just someone who appreciates their work, the West will be the place to be on Saturday, August 25th.  The First Annual Dockyard Art Festival will run from 5pm until 8pm with local artists setting up tables outside various locations and a jam session in the Victualling Yard.  The Walk will lead from the Clock Tower, along Maritime Lane, onwards to the Ferry Terminal and back along the kiosks.  For more information, contact 234-2809 or artcentre@ibl.bm – here’s the flyer!

 

 

 

The Moonlight Movie Series is back for Labour Day Weekend!  Movies in the Park will be at the Botanical Gardens will have a double-billing each night with family-friendly fun (including a variety of food vendors, games, rides and activities in a relatively large Kiddie Land provided by Play Games Entertainment) from 6.30pm each night.  On Friday, August 31st, the early feature at 8.30pm will be The Pirates! Band of Misfits (Rated PG) followed by Think Like A Man (Rated PG-13) at 10.30pm.  On Saturday, September 1st, Journey 2 (Rated PG) will start at 8.30pm, followed by the late feature The Hunger Games (PG-13) at 10.30pm.
