Heineken Hog Penny

Hog Penny are hosting their very first Heineken Night tomorrow night, Saturday, May 4th. This is a live music event hosted by Will Black and Heineken with lots of prizes to be won via scratch cards and on stage, as well as Heineken by the bucket at a special price. The fun starts at 10pm and goes until 1am.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summer Sundays Lift Your Voices

Summer Sundays in the Park is back for its fifth anniversary celebration on Sunday, May 5th, and promises a gospel extravaganza with the theme Lift Your Voices. This event will feature lots of family-friendly entertainment in Victoria Park from 3pm until 8pm. Mistress of Ceremonies will be Power Girl and, as well as live entertainment from Bermuda Idol winner Latosha Codrington, Big Snipes, Olivia Hamilton, Gina Spence Productions in Christ, Adrian Jones, Anointed for Praise Dancers, the Developing Arts Program for Playlist Management and much more, there will be a kids’ area with fun castles, face-painting, cotton candy and popcorn. If you don’t want to take your own picnic with you, there will be food vendors available. Admission is free.

 

Bermuda Motorcylce Racing Club

The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club and the Bermuda Karting Club, will be hosting their 2013 National Championship Season Opener: Test of Speed this Sunday, May 5th at the Bermuda Motor Sports Park in Southside, St. David’s. Spectators, friends and family will be provided with entertainment across a variety of race classes in the two disciplines of motor sports. Gates open at noon and racing starts at 1pm. The half time show will be drag racing with karts vs bikes. Admission is $5, the Pitt Pass is $10 and children under 12 and seniors are free.

 

 

Pickled Onion Open Mic Jam

Starting from Tuesday, May 7th, Pickled Onion will be hosting a weekly Open Mic Jam.  This is from 9.30pm and all aspiring musicians are invited to bring their instruments/voices and join the fun.  For more information, call 295-2263.

 

 

 

Summer Island BBQ at Beau Rivage

A new way to get over Hump Day in style is coming soon, courtesy of Beau Rivage at Newstead Belmont Hills. Their Summer Island BBQ on the Beau Rivage Restaurant Patio will be available every week from Wednesday, May 8th and the BBQ menu will change weekly, including chicken, beef, ribs, fish and exotic cocktails. As well as a fabulous sunset view of the harbour, David Moniz will be providing live entertainment. Reservations are available from 6.30pm until 9.30pm and the cost is $48 per person. In case of bad weather, the BBQ will move to L’eau bar, just across from the main dining room instead. For reservations, call 232-8686.

Bermuda Folk Club are hosting an Open Mic Night at Spanish Point Boat Club on Saturday, May 11th. Doors open at 7.30pm and music will be from 8pm, featuring Ecuadorian duo, Los Bohemios. I For An I

Bermudian Artists Rise Up (B.A.R.U) are hosting a special one night only exhibition addressing the critical issue of the impact of gang violence in our community.  I For An I will be in the Bermuda College Art Gallery on Tuesday, May 21st from 5pm until 7.30pm and, in addition to seeing how some of Bermuda’s artists have chosen to address this issue through their artwork, there will also be a panel discussion to facilitate dialogue on the topic.  Entry is free and you can RSVP to baru.bda@gmail.com.

 

 

 

 

 

St Peters Coronation

St Peter’s, Their Majesties’ Chappell in St George’s, is the oldest surviving Anglican church in continuous use outside the British Isles and will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday, June 2nd at 11am. This celebration will take the form of a special service of Sung Matins in the presence of the Governor His Excellency and Mrs George Fergusson. Hats and medals may be worn and the service will be followed by a Coronation Tea to which you are invited to bring your “Royal” teacup.
