April 1st, 2015: Bermuda Events Update

Morning Boys and Girls!

Couple Holding Hands At Beach

First of all, I have a bit of exciting news as NTDIB is expanding into new ventures!  People regularly complain that they have nothing to do in Bermuda, hence the creation of this site.  The second biggest complaint is that it can be hard to meet Mr. or Ms. Right on such a small island so I am very pleased to announce the creation of the brand new spin-off dating site, No-one to do in Bermudaclick here to visit the site and create your profile!

In other news, many more Bermuda springtime events are being added to the calendar – I can only imagine how busy summer is going to be:

0402 Furious 7 Premiere

The faster, louder guys are at it again as the seventh installment of the radically popular Fast and Furious series is set to rev up and come bursting across movie screens everywhere on April 3rd. Fans don’t have to wait until then though as you can get a sneak preview at the Furious 7 Bermuda Movie Premiere at Speciality Cinema & Grill on Thursday, April 2nd.

Showtimes are at 9pm and midnight. The ticket price also includes a Fast & Furious memorabilia cup and popcorn tub (including the drink and popcorn), 2 drink tickets for beer or wine, a free keychain, and a free Old School Party at BPSU.

Tickets are $30 and available from Speciality Cinema & Grill, Speciality Inn or by calling 536-1999.

0403 Chewstick Good Friday KiteFest

Get ready Bermuda, Chewstick’s Good Friday KiteFest is set to take flight on Friday, April 3rd on Horseshoe Bay Beach.

From 10am until 6pm, this cultural event will bring people together in the spirit of community and national pride, with plenty of ways to get involved and win fantastic prizes.

KiteFest will feature the island’s largest Kite Competition, categories include Best Boxy (Fennel Sticks), Biggest Kite, Smallest Kite, Best Design, Best Traditional Kite, Best Innovative Kite Design, and Ugliest Kite. The contest is wide-open, so you can just come through with your kite and enter right there on the sand. It is free to enter the competition for the chance to win great prizes.

The event will also showcase a diverse cross-section of Bermuda talent, including traditional folk music, acoustic reggae and contemporary gospel.

This year will see the return of the competition for Bermuda’s Best Fishcake. To enter, just bring one fishcake to the beach to be sampled by KiteFest judges.

There is plenty of food, entertainment, an Easter Egg Hunt, and games for the entire community to enjoy, so each and every person is encouraged to attend and participate in The Bermuda Good Friday KiteFest and to celebrate one of Bermuda’s longest standing and iconic family traditions, on the most beautiful beach in Bermuda.

The Chewstick Foundation is honoured to have the opportunity to steward this event and are very happy for the support of sponsors, Logic, BELCO, the Bermuda Tourism Authority, The Kitson Group and the Fairmont Southampton.

This event is completely free.
