July 15th, 2015: Bermuda Events Update
Morning Ladies and Gents!
Well, I guess we should all start stocking up for Cup Match now as Cup Match Eve is only two weeks from today! Here is the latest in Bermuda since last week’s post – don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap section at the bottom of this post for details of events which have been covered in previous posts:
The Low Country Voices (LCV) of South Carolina are on-island to celebrate their Choir Anniversary and look forward to sharing with the Bermuda community at two separate events.
The first will be a performance at the Flagpole on Front Street at 8pm during Harbour Nights on Wednesday, July 15th.
The Allen Temple Senior Choir will then host the Low Country Voices Ensemble in concert at 7.30pm on Thursday, July 16th.
The LCV Ensemble are a multicultural group comprised of gifted singers from the North Charleston and surrounding areas. They perform a variety of spiritual selections from the African-American tradition and other classical genres in low country style. The LCV is hailed by South Carolinians as one of the areas cultural treasures and were recently selected to provide the special music prior to the funeral of slain US Senator and AME Pastor- Rev. Clementa Pinckney where US President Obama was the eulogist. They also ministered at the final celebrations of others of the slain Emmanuel 9.
A freewill offering will be taken at the concert on the Thursday.
