June 10th, 2015: Bermuda Events Update
Morning Troops!
The last holiday weekend before Cup Match is almost upon us! You’ll find plenty of things to do in Bermuda in this post; however, please don’t forget that you can also check what events have been featured in previous posts listed in the Quick Recap section at the bottom of every weekly post.
How much sugar is in your day? A teaspoon in your coffee? Maybe a little in your dessert? The truth is added sugar adds up. Find out how much is too much at the Bermuda Diabetes Association’s Public Diabetes Seminar on Wednesday, June 10th.
From 5.30pm in the Harbour Ballroom at the Hamilton Princess, you can listen to a panel of internationally-acclaimed diabetes experts discuss what we can do in Bermuda to stem the tide of this health epidemic.
Speakers will be notable global leaders in the fight against diabetes, including Dr. Petra Wilson, CEO of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF); Dr. Belma Mandala, leading doctor and researcher on gestational diabetes and chairman of the WINGS project (improving gestational diabetes outcomes in Africa and India); and Ms. Anne-Marie Felton, Past Vice-President, IDF, and the co-Founder and current President of the Federation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND).
This event is free.
