0501 Coco Reef Island Buffet and BBQ

Café Coco at Coco Reef are spicing up your weekdays with two different weekly events for the summer season. On Tuesday evenings, you can taste some of Bermuda’s favourite flavours at their Island Buffet and on Thursday evenings, you can enjoy the thrill of the grill at their Summer BBQ. Both run from 7pm until 9pm and cost $43 per person. This will run weekly until October 15th. These events are in addition to their Happy Hour with $7 drinks in La Vista Bar between 5pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday. As mentioned previously, Thursdays are Theme Night with Will Black at Hog Penny. This week, there will be prizes to be won at Music Trivia Night where you can test your skills through 5 rounds of music trivia performed by Will Black, in addition to your favourite song requests. This week’s Saturday night guest will be Keith White for Black / White Night. Will Black and Keith White promise to entertain you by performing the best rock music possible all night long, swapping acoustic and electric guitars throughout. Will Black is taking a mini-vacation until Thursday but never fear, the show will go on with Tony Brannon and Mike Hind taking over as hosts for Open Mic Night at Hog Penny tonight.  Will Black will return on Thursday with a Triple Tribute featuring complete sets of music in tribute to The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Tom Petty, performed live.  This week’s Saturday night gig will be UK Pub Night with Will Black performing your favourite modern UK hits from Oasis, Coldplay, Adele, Pulp, Radiohead, The Verve, Snow Patrol Muse and more, plus singalong with the classics from 60s British invasion to New Wave 80s. Happy Hump Day, Folks!

 

I have just been cheered up by the realisation that there is a public holiday for Good Friday next week – can’t believe I completely forgot until now, especially since it’s one of the nicer public holidays.  I guess I’d better get started on making my kite, and also on buying a real kite for when my home-made kite ends up a hot mess.  If you’re looking for Bermuda Easter weekend events, you’ve come to the right place – and the summer events are starting to come in too…

0409 Who Needs Tourism Lecture

Bermuda College will be supporting Hospitality Month in April with the focus of its Spring 2014 Lecture Series entitled, Who Needs Tourism?!! on Wednesday, April 9th at 7pm in the North Hall Lecture Theatre.  Panellists will comprise Bermuda Tourism Authority principals David Dodwell (Chairman), Bill Hanbury (CEO) and Karla Lacey (COO).  The evening forum will be facilitated by the College’s business and hospitality lecturer, Dr. Barbara O’Shaughnessy, who is also Chair of the Visitor Industry Partnership (VIP) initiative.  This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Evelyn James Barnett, Communications Office at Bermuda College at 239-4006 or ebarnett@college.bm.
