April 2nd, 2014
Morning Kids!
Welcome to the first post of April and the second quarter of 2014. Anyone pull off any good pranks yesterday? Feel free to share on Twitter or Facebook – here is my contribution if you didn’t catch it on Facebook already. Here are the latest Bermuda events for April and beyond:
To recognise and celebrate the industry’s economic importance to Bermuda, April has been designated Hospitality Month with activities for all ages to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Each week, the Bermuda Hospitality Institute (BHI) will be promoting a different area of the Island through a Hospitality Trail guide, featuring eco and cultural activities, historical architecture, leisure activities, dining and accommodations. April 1st to the 6th will be spotlighting Central & City (City of Hamilton, Devonshire, Pembroke and Paget). Some of the specific events during this week include a guided property tour followed by a complimentary continental breakfast at the Royal Palms Hotel at 9.30am on Tuesday, April 1st. On Wednesday, April 2nd, there will be a guided property tour, followed by complimentary afternoon tea at 3.45pm at Rosedon Hotel. For art lovers, there will be a complimentary guided Art Tour of Bermuda National Gallery from Tuesday, April 1st to Friday, April 4th at 10.30am and also a complimentary Director’s Tour with Tom Butterfield at Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art at 12.30pm every Tuesday in April. April 7th to 13th will be East End (Hamilton Parish and East), April 14th to 20th will be Sound & Shore (all shorelines N/S/E/W, including bays, inlets, harbors, ponds) and April 21st to 27th is the West End (Warwick-Dockyard). An important part of Hospitality Month will be the BHI Moongate Awards, recognising organisations that demonstrate a commitment to setting and maintaining standards of excellence that enhance and strengthen Bermuda’s Hospitality industry. There are also various discounts and giveaways available when you mention Hospitality Month at participating organisations. A list can be found on the flyer or on the BHI’s website.
