Morning Troops!
Just a quick update on what’s happening in Bermuda before the weekend:
- Francis Patton Primary School invite you to their school fair, The Last Hurray tomorrow, June 23rd from noon until 8pm. Admission is $2 and you can expect majorettes, fun rides, snowballs, cotton candy, drum line, gombeys, music and games – here’s the flyer!
- I know there are lots of rugby fans out there so here’s one for you – the NACRA 15’s Caribbean Championship Final is tomorrow at National Stadium. Gates open at 1.30pm and there will be a bouncy castle, face-painting and bar, refreshments and food. The U19’s will be playing the Presidents Select Team at 2pm, followed by the main battle of Bermuda vs Guyana at 4pm. Entry is free for under 18s and $5 for everyone else. If you want to continue the festivities, the BRFU AfterParty will be at Docksider’s from 9pm until 2am. The cost of entry is $10 for men and free for ladies – here’s the flyer!
- A little update on Lemon Tree’s Fish in the Park Party next Friday – this will also be a Pre-Canada Day Celebration Happy Hour. Anyone who goes to Lemon Tree between 5pm and 8pm dressed in anything Canadian will be able to get 11 drink tickets for $55.
- The Centre on Philanthropy is hosting their inaugural Family Community Day at the Botanical Gardens on Saturday, June 30th. From 9 am until 1 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about local nonprofits and how you can get involved further through volunteering. Participating nonprofits are Bermuda National Trust, Bermuda SPCA, Gina Spence Productions in Christ, Keep Bermuda Beautiful, Masterworks Foundation, Matilda Smith Williams Seniors Residence, and The Eliza Dolittle Society. More details on each project are posted at www.centreonphilanthropy.org each family member is required to sign up on www.volunteer.bm with their own profile as soon as possible as projects are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Prizes will be awarded to the youngest volunteer, the oldest volunteer, and the largest family to participate.
- Rosewood Tucker’s Point are hosting a 4th of July Celebration at The Beach Club on, unsurprisingly, Wednesday, July 4th. The festivities begin at 6pm with a fun castle and children’s games, complimentary cocktails from 6.30pm until 7.30pm, a beach BBQ from 7.30pm until 10.30pm, party favours, music, dancing, and the obligatory fireworks.
