Just a quick one before the weekend:

Yo Cherry Grand Opening

Many of you have enjoyed one or more of their 15 flavours and over 50 toppings already but Yo Cherry, Bermuda’s first self-serve frozen yogurt and bakery, are celebrating their Grand Opening  on Saturday, November 16th.  This will be from 1pm until 2pm and Premier Craig Cannonier will be cutting the ribbon.  For more details, contact 292-2020.

 

 

 

 

Basketball Tournament

If Rugby isn’t your thing, then another sporting event happening this weekend might be of more interest.  The 3 on 3 Basketball 2013 Tournament will be happening on Saturday, November 16th at Cedarbridge Academy.  From 6pm until 6pm, there will be a 3 point shoot out contest and a slam dunk contest, both $20 entry with prizes of $200, and a $1000 grand prize for the 3 on 3 winner.  You can also expect raffle prizes, giveaways, and food and drink on sale.  Admission is $5 or $40 per team.  For more information, or to register your team, contact 3on3Bermuda@digicelgroup.com.

As part of the Barbados’ Month of Independence celebrations throughout November, the Barbados Association of Bermuda are hosting Kar-Ya-Own-Key on Saturday, November 16th at the Police Club.  This karaoke night will begin at 8pm, with prizes to be won.  There is no cover charge.  For more information, contact barbados.association@gmail.com.

 

 

TechAwards

For the 8th year, the Technology Innovation Awards (TechAwards) aim to promote and showcase technology in Bermuda that is used by everyone, everywhere, everyday. The People’s Choice Technology Innovation Award is currently open for voting with many of your favourites nominated <*cough, *cough, NothingtodoinBermuda.com>.  Voting is open here from now until 5pm on Sunday, November 17th.   The TechAwards presentations will take place on Thursday, November 21st, in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week Prizegiving at the XL Conference Rooms of the O’Hara Building, Bermudiana Road from 5.30pm to 8pm. Attilio, Pastor of St. Michael’s Church is hosting An Itinerary through the Book of Jonah: Part 2 on Wednesday, November 20th.  Starting at 7.30pm, this discussion will be in the light of Christian and Jewish tradition, discovering how much this small book of the Bible has to do with our daily life.  For more information, contact stmichaels@logic.bm.

 

 

 

Caisey Family Productions2

Caisey Family Productions invites you on a spiritual journey at their annual musical performance, The Gospel According to David, on Sunday, December 22nd.  From 4pm at the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall, performers will include the Caisey Family, Wild Honee, Present Truth, Live Wire and Zion all performing to the Caisey Family Band (James Richardson, Derek Simmons, Darius Richardson, Sydney Simmons and Mike Payne).  This is a song and dance production, with a little spoken word, and all songs are spiritually-based from various genres.  Tickets cost $50 for adults,  $10 for children aged between 5 and 12, and are available at Caesar’s Pharmacy. From December 1st, the City Box Office will also have them between 8.30am and 2.30pm.   For more information, contact June Caisey at 292-4872.

Holiday Events at Elbow Beach

Lido Dining and Entertainment Complex at Elbow Beach invite you to spend both Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve with them.  On Christmas Day, they will be offering a Full International Brunch at Lido Restaurant at a cost of $75 per person, or $38 off for kids under 10.  Dress code is business casual/smart elegant and open sitting is from 11.30am until the last reservation slot at 7.30pm.  On New Year’s Eve, Lido Restaurant will be offering a Gala Dinner with open sitting from 7pm and the last reservation at 8.30pm.  Dress code is elegant and the cost of $95 per person includes a five course set menu.  The Deep Lounge and Nightclub will be open for dancing 10.30pm until 3am at the cost of $40 per person (or $20 if you are one of the Lido diners).  Reservations are essential for all.  For more information, or to make a reservation, contact 236-9884 or manager@lido.bm.
