Happy Friday!
Just a quick update before the weekend – TGIF:
The Bermuda Society of Interior Designers (BSID) presents their 2nd Annual Holiday Wreath Show and Silent Auction at Washington Mall from now until Wednesday, December 4th. BSID members, Industry Alliance members, friends and local artists have created this series of whimsical, dramatic and playful wreaths to be sold to the highest bidder as a benefit for the Coalition for the Protection of Children and the BSID Scholarship Fund. The show can be viewed during the Mall’s normal opening hours, 8am until 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Bids are being taken now via the Society’s Facebook page with a minimum bid of $50 and increments of $5. Simply state your bid as a comment on the wreath you would like and highest bid will be declared the winner at the end. On December 4th at 5pm, the winning bids will be announced at the Church Street entrance of Washington Mall, along with a Judge’s Prize and a People’s Choice Award. For more information, contact Jill Henneberger on 292-6041.
There are four new exhibits opening on Friday, November 22nd at the Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA) in City Hall. Studio A will showcase Recent Works by Alex Allerdyce, who paints beautiful acrylic scenes of Bermuda in all its colourful glory, while well known artist Charles Knights will be exhibiting some of his latest watercolour masterpieces in Studio B. Opening night will be BSoA on Friday, November 22nd from 5pm until 7pm with the usual wine, beer and soda with cheese and crackers provided. The shows will run until Tuesday, December 10th. According to Discovery Wines and Gosling’s, they are Steel Sommeliers and Neil from Gosling’s and Christian from DW will be pitted against each other on Wednesday, November 27th. From 7pm, they will take on a 4 course menu at Mad Hatters with each sommelier choosing a different wine for each course. The diners will vote for whom they think should win the title of Steel Sommelier and that winner gets to be unbearably smug! The cost is $125 per person and does not include grats.
