The Reefs invite you to an exclusive seven-course dinner party hosted by their talented culinary team as they entice your palate with wonderfully creative local fare and hand-selected wines, at their Chef’s Table Dining Experience on Wednesday evenings year-round.

Served in the elevated fine dining atmosphere of Royston’s from 7pm, Executive Chef Doug Sisk personally creates the menu each week to guarantee a unique dining experience like none other.

Bermuda Bistro at the Beach introduce Bermuda’s newest entertainer as Newfoundland’s Chris Feener is now Performing Live 5 nights a week.

From 7pm until 10pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer, Chris will be playing a mix of funk, top 40, old school, and rock ‘n’ roll.

0603 Its Only Natural

Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art presents the new exhibit, It’s Only Natural, which opened to the public on Friday, June 3rd.

The show will feature works by Judith Davidson, Rhona Emmerson, Chris Marson and Lee Petty, and will be showcased in the Rick Faries Gallery.

The exhibit will run until June 28th.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 11am until 4.30pm on Sundays.  Masterworks is closed on public holidays.  General admission is $5, or free for members and children under 12.

0609 Thursday Beach BBQ at the Reefs

Dine under the stars to the tunes of DJ Travis at the weekly Beach BBQ at The Reefs.

Boasting cooking stations, a DJ and more, this unmissable culinary event will run weekly from 6.30pm until 10pm on Thursdays throughout the summer.

Round up your favourite scallywags for Happy Arrrr Me Hearties, a Neon Pirate Happy Hour on Friday, June 10th.

The boat, Calico Jack’s Floating Bar, will depart #1 Dock, across from Pickled Onion at 6pm sharp.

Whilst aboard, you can expect some neon pirate swag, free grog on entry,  and music by DJ Chubb.  Every ticket holder will be in for a chance to win a crate of Somersby and you can also enter their Pieces of 8 Raffle on the night for a chance to win Blackbeard’s Booty.

0611 Bermuda Dance Academy Recital In The Movies

Promising a spectacular showcase, Bermuda Dance Academy directed by Nikia Manders, is holds its first Dance Recital, In The Movies, on Saturday, June 11th.

From 2pm in The Berkeley Institute Cafetorium, the concert will feature dances from eight classic movies, including Annie, Frozen and Hunger Games.  You are invited to come enjoy this afternoon of entertainment while students from the ages of three to eighteen perform choreography to music from your favourite movie.

0612 Tokio Sprint Triathlon

Think you’re in pretty good shape?  Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. are giving you the opportunity to challenge yourself at their 2016 Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, June 12th.

From 8am at Albuoys Point, Hamilton, race categories will include Senior Individual, Senior Team, Try-a-Tri, School Challenge, and Junior Duathlon.

The Try-a-Tri is shorter version of the Triathlon to give a taster to this sport.

Prizes will be awarded to the male and female overall category winners in their age groups, the (Re)Insurance Cup, the Corporate Cup, and the School Challenge, with cash prizes going to schools in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
The registration fees are $35 for the Try-a-Tri, $50 for Senior Individuals, $75 for Senior Teams and $30 for Juniors.  Online registration is availble at www.RaceDayWorld.com.

0612 Queens Birthday Celebration

Come and celebrate the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, at St Peter’s Church, Their Majesties Chappell, with a special service of thanksgiving on Sunday, June 12th.

All attendees are asked to arrive by 10.45am for an 11am start.  In attendance will be Bishop Nicholas Dill, His Excellency the Governor Mr George Fergusson, the Honourable Premier Michael Dunkley, and the Worshipful Quinell Francis, Mayor of St George.

The children’s choir of St Peter’s, Their Majesties Choristers, will also be performing.

A special birthday greeting is to be recorded by all those in attendance, which will be sent to Her Majesty with a card signed by everyone as well.

A reception is due to follow in the Edith Clair Spencer Hall.

0612 Hidden Gems

The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard are opening their latest show Hidden Gems on Sunday, June 12th.

This is a juried members’ show featuring work in all media, size and prices.  The topic is interpreted by the artists in what they consider to be a hidden gem.

The opening reception will be from 5.30pm until 7pm and the show will remain open until July 10th.

Admission is free.  The Arts Centre is open daily from 10am until 5pm and is wheelchair accessible.

From 6pm at Beacon House, this monthly discussion group is open to the public and offers information on living with vision loss and provides opportunities to network, share, and socialise with others in a caring and supportive environment.  Free transportation is also available and you are invited to call to RSVP and arrange this.

Tomorrow’s Voices invite you to their two-topic June Workshop, Why Play? and Using Technology As An Effective Teaching Tool on Wednesday, June 15th.

Play is an important part of children’s development and the importance of it is gaining recognition world-wide. The workshop Why Play? will examine the importance of play and how we can really use play as an effective tool for teaching play and helping to develop the child in other ways.

Technology is ever expanding and ever-growing. Our children are now exposed to far more technological advances than we were as children. So what are the benefits of our latest technological revolution and how can we use technology to advance our learners? Using Technology As An Effective Teaching Tool will explore these questions further.

The cost is $25 and attendees will be provided with a Professional Development Certificate upon completion of the workshop.  Light food and drinks will be served.

0615 How Much Would You Pay to See Me

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda presents its third biennial How Much Would You Pay to See Me…? Fundraiser, where local celebrities have volunteered to raise funds for the charity by doing outrageous dares live on stage at the Bermuda Heroes Weekend-themed Harbour Night on Wednesday, June 15th.

From 8pm at the Flagpole on Front Street, each participant has accepted hilarious, stomach-churning or bizarre dares with the aim of raising a minimum of $1,500 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda. The celebrities will encourage members of the community to make pledges to see them do their dares and generate funding for the charitable organisation.

0619 400th Anniversary Service of St Annes Church

St. Anne’s Church invites all former and current members, as well as visitors, to celebrate the momentous occasion of its 400th Anniversary Service on Sunday, June 19th.

From 10.30am, Bishop Nicholas Dill will preside, Governor Fergusson, Premier Dunkley, and a member of the Opposition Leadership will read the scripture lessons, and other dignitaries will be in attendance.

All are welcome to attend this celebration of the Christian Church in Bermuda. Refreshments will be served in the church hall after the service.

One of Bermuda Heroes Weekend’s signature events, WKD and Carib Beer presents PURE: The 8th Annual All White Party on Sunday, June 19th.

Gates to the BAA parking lot open at 8.30pm.  Last year, this event had over 1,200 patrons, and this year promises to be even bigger and better.  From 9pm, you can enjoy over 1,000 glowsticks with live performances by Peter Ram (“All a wi” “Woman by my side” and many more), King Bubba (“When wi touch dung” and many more), plus many more artists passing through.  There will also be music by New York and Trinidad #1 DJ, DJ Young Chow, plus T & T’s very own and NYC top Soca DJ, Riggo Suave, plus Bermuda’s best, including YGS, King Jyrus Family and Juggling J.

0621 Hail to the Queen

Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art presents the new exhibit, Hail to the Queen, opening to the public on Tuesday, June 21st.

The show is all about the Queen of Bermuda cruise line that ran during the 40s through to the 60s, with the topic interpreted by a multitude of artists in various mediums.  It will be showcased in the Mezzanine of the Butterfield Gallery.

The opening reception will be from 5.30pm until 7.30pm and the exhibit will run until November 15th.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 11am until 4.30pm on Sundays.  Masterworks is closed on public holidays.  General admission is $5, or free for members and children under 12.

0625 Foil Fest Safari

Ana Luna invites you to join them on a Foil Fest Safari on Saturday, June 25th.

This America’s Cup Special Sailing, features three AC foiling catamarans involved with speed trials at Foil Fest 2016. The boats are said to be the new 47′ one design which will be used in the finals.

The Ana Luna outing departs Hamilton docks (Barr’s Bay Park preferred) at 10am.  Racing starts at 11am, alongside cruise ships in Dockyard.

A BBQ lunch is included and served and the race will conclude at 4pm, so you’ll have time to stop for a swim in Paradise Lakes before returning to the dock at 5pm.  Since this is a long cruse, you are reminded to bring sun protection, a hat, towels, bathing suit, etc,

The cost is $195 per person, which includes the 7 hour cruise, BBQ lunch, fresh water, and swim stop.  The bar and gratuities are not included.

0525 Foil Fest 2016

Enjoy a unique, free, event presented by America’s Cup Bermuda (ACBDA), in conjunction with WEDCO,  at Foil Fest 2016 on Saturday, June 25th.

This event will feature America’s Cup teams, Artemis Racing, ORACLE TEAM USA (OTUSA) and SoftBank Team Japan in a series of ‘drag races’ in the waters just off of the cruise ship docks.

OTUSA and Team Japan will also open their Dockyard bases to the public from 11am to 1pm and Artemis Racing will have a public presence at the event.

There will be an ‘event village’ complete with: free Kids Zone and Zipline; food, beverage and other vendors; opportunities to sail with the America’s Cup Endeavour Program; and the teams’ AC45 catamarans will be at mooring in Dockyard for public viewing.

Festivities in the event village will be hosted by DJ Rusty G while MC Glenn Jones will host the Dock-In and Dock-Out shows and the actual races. Bermuda’s Red Bull Youth America’s Cup team will also be on hand.

Additional racing will include other Bermuda sailing fleets – Optimists, Comets and Kiteboards – and the Bermuda Pilot Gig Club will do an exhibition race prior to the AC45 races.

The public is encouraged to arrive at the event via the public ferry system to reduce traffic on the roads and parking.

St. George Rotary Club invite you to join them for their Biannual Famiy Fish Fry and Raffle at Tobacco Bay Beach on Saturday, June 25th.

Make sure to bring your towels, swim gear and so on while the great team of staff at Tobacco Bay serve up some traditional fish dinners and favourite local drinks from 6pm. Take out is available too. The rain date for this event is Saturday, July 2nd.

Good family fun is in store in St. George’s at the 21st Annual Portuguese Festival of the Holy Spirit on Saturday and Sunday, July 2nd and 3rd.

This will take place in King’s Square from from 5pm until 11pm each evening, with local entertainment provided by the Travellers, Caroline Araujo, Stephanie Pacheco, Amalia Pontes, Portuguese Folklore Dancers, Arlindo Andrade and Tony Borges.  Portuguese food and baked goods will be available for sale.

Fashionistas, mark your diaries as the Bermuda Fashion Festival is back for 2016.  Produced by the City of Hamilton, this annual, week-long fashion celebration will run from Sunday, July 10th until Saturday, July 16th.

0710 Evolution Retail Show

The week opens with Bermuda’s largest fashion event of the year, the Evolution Retail Show on Sunday, July 10th.

The event draws a crowd of thousands to see local entertainers, Bermuda’s top models and a theatrical show.  For the first time ever, Evolution is an afternoon event, so the whole family can enjoy it.

The show starts at 5pm on the front lawn at City Hall **UPDATE: This event will now take place under the mega-tent at #1 Car Park on Front Street**, with the fun starting a little earlier for VIP guests who will have a cocktail reception from 4pm.  Evolution will feature retailers and salons from all parishes, brands available in Bermuda all shown on a 70-foot runway!

General admission is free but you can get the most from this Fashion Extravaganza, by purchasing a VIP ticket for $60 from www.pTix.bm and City Hall offices.  VIP tickets provide reserved seating, a complimentary cocktail reception and access to a cash bar at intermission.

Promising a full sensorial experience, the Bermuda Fashion Festival’s Hair and Beauty Show will be on Monday, July 11th.

This event will begin with cocktails at 6.30pm and showtime at 7.30pm in the Earl Cameron Theatre.  Be prepared for the element of surprise as you experience your human senses heightened at this event, – sight, sound, smell, touch and taste… it’s all there!

Enjoy an elaborate showcase for overseas designers in the elegant richness of Bermuda at the Bermuda Fashion Festival’s International Designer Show on Tuesday, July 12th.

From 7.30pm in the big tent at #1 Car Park, each designer will present their collection featuring top Bermuda and international models, highlighting the elegance of fashion designs against a backdrop of Bermuda’s beautiful harbour.

Designers include Dana Cooper (an internationally successful Bermudian), Evelyn Lambert, Soka, The House of Thomas LaVone, Monif C. Plus Sizes, and the headline feature designer, Stello.

This event is presented in partnership with JaKoMa Group.

Enjoy the fresh air, camaraderie and festival fun at the Bermuda Fashion Festival’s Celebrity Golf Classic on Wednesday, July 13th.

From 8am on the beautiful par 3 course, Turtle Hill Golf Club at Fairmont Southampton, you’ll play with international models and fashion designers and celebrities at this Celebrity Golf Tournament hosted by former Golf Channel broadcaster Win McMurry.  After the round, there will be a prize-giving lunch at Bacci.

Produced by the City of Hamilton and supported by international magazine editors and fashion professionals, the end result is this breathtaking, unique fashion runway show in the big tent at #1 Car Park.  Each designer’s collection debuts on the Bermuda Fashion Festival runway – you see it here first!
