Yet another Hump Day is upon us, which means that you get to check out all the latest Bermuda events added to the calendar since last week’s edition.

You’re invited to the Impact Mentoring Academy Open House from Wednesday to Friday, February 21st to 23rd.

Looking for alternate education option for your young male?  Launched in 2001, Impact Mentoring Academy is a single gender, ‘charter school’ As a registered charity, they are able to offer a viable alternative to mainstream education.

Their purpose is to empower teenage males to discover and develop their unique potential through a transformational learning experience that lead to their successful graduation from High School, then continuing their education at the tertiary level or through career placement.

The open house will be from 9am until 10.30am daily and is for adults and prospective students. Space for attendance is limited, as they are trying to disrupt the learning as little as possible.

The St. George’s Foundation has a permanent exhibit of Bermuda landscape murals painted in the 1930’s by Emile Antoine Verpilleux for the Anderson family of Ford Motor Company.

These large paintings depict an era long ago and are not only of value as works of art, but are of historical and education interest.  These mural have been restored and are exhibited at The World Heritage Centre, St. George

This exhibit will be ongoing until further notice. Opening hours will be from 10am until 4pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Savvy Entertainment invite you to join them as they launch The Shed, Bermuda’s newest entertainment venue in Dockyard, at Vegas Nights: The Grand Opening on Saturday, February 24th.

The Shed is located on Cross Island the former home of the America’s Cup Village,  From 7pm until midnight, in true Vegas style, you can enjoy live performances while sipping on your favorite cocktail, playing the best casino-style games (including Crown & Anchor), networking and dancing the night away.

Back once a month, the next Juju Afro Beats will be on Saturday, February 24th.

From 9pm at the Muse Skybar, you can come hang out and dance to the sounds of Afro music with Korie Minors.  This event is for over-18s and is brought to you by Muse, Tropikal, Korie Minors, We Are Bermuda and Digital Nomad Radio.

The Bermuda Arts Centre Dockyard invite you to the opening of their latest members’ juried show Reflections on Sunday, February 25th.

The opening is from 3.30pm until 5pm and they will also be tying in their fundraising event, Reflections of You, one of a kind mirrors created by their artists and available for silent auction.  Bids can be placed by phone or email and final bids will be accepted until 4.30pm on February 25th.  Mirrors may be viewed on their website.

Mirrors will be removed on the night, but the show runs until March 16th.

Admission is free. The Arts Centre is open daily from 10am until 5pm and is wheelchair accessible.

The Jewish Community of Bermuda invite you to their Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Saturday, March 3rd.

From 7pm at Spanish Point Boat Club, you can sip with them as they raise funds to improve and maintain their building and programs.  The ticket price will include plenty of food and wine and a free entry for their door prize.  You are also invited to bring cash so you can play games and participate in their raffles.There will also be live and silent auctions.

The Sarah Allen Women’s Missionary Society of Vernon Temple Church is hosting Luncheons during the Annual A.M.E. Bermuda Conference at the Fairmont Southampton, from Thursday to Monday, March 8th to 12th.

This will be each day from noon until 1.15pm, or when the conference breaks for lunch, with catering by Carlos.  A complimentary shuttle between Fairmont Southampton and Vernon Temple has been arranged for everyone’s convenience.

Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art invite you to one of two Bermuda Kite Making Classes on Saturdays, March 17th and 24th.

The Family Centre invite you to join them “under the sea” for a Blind Wine Tasting on Friday, April 27th.
