Masterworks Museum are showing a new exhibit in the Rick Faries Gallery, entitled By the Sea which is on display now, until Friday, August 31st.

Bermuda’s seascapes has inspired artists for generations. Stop by to be wowed and inspired by artists interpretation of Bermuda’s Beautiful Oceans.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and the gallery is temporarily closed on Sundays. Masterworks is closed on public holidays.  General admission is $5, or free for members and children under 12.

Made in Bermuda Festival is coming to you Labour Day Weekend on Saturday, September 1st.

Starting at 7pm on The North Lawn in Dockyard, you can enjoy live entertainment by the Grammy award-winning featured artist, Monica. Other entertainment will include; The Wall Street Band, One Solution, Brixx, Sheila Smith, Live Wires, DJ Chubb, DJ iBreeze and many more local artists.

General admission starts at $100 and VIP tickets are $200, which includes; VIP Lounge, all-inclusive bar & food, preferred parking & entrance, exclusive MIB package. Tickets are available from Ptix.bm.

Fairmont Southampton are offering a range of family-friendly sporting activities at the Tennis & Golf Family Fun Day on Sunday, September 2nd.

Following the youth Red Ball Championships from 9.30am until 11am, MTM will be hosting their Disa and GG Tennis Fun Day, and in combination with this event there will be a Golf Open House at Turtle Hill Golf Club.

Tennis activities are from 11am until 3pm, while Golf activities are from 3pm until 5pm and the events include: Beat the Tennis Pro, Fun Castle, Red Ball Tennis for Juniors, Challenge Court, Ball Machine Court
SNAG Golf Court, Free Footgolf and Free Beginners Golf Lessons (Must contact the golf shop to reserve, (441) 239-6952 or e-mail golf.bermuda@fairmont.com.)

Come out in support of the development of the Bermuda Women’s & Girls Rugby programs to a Sip & Swirl Wine Tasting event on Friday, September 7th.

This will be held from 6pm until 9pm at Gosling’s Wine Cellar, where a variety of wines will be poured for tasting. All proceeds from this event will assist youth player and travel costs for the National team at RAN this September in Barbados.

The Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club invite you to dine with a difference by spending A weekend with Marcus from Friday, September 7th until Sunday, September 9th.

This event comes just in time for lobster season, starting on Friday, September 7th at 6.30pm, you can watch a live cooking demo with Chef Marcus, and then enjoy a Lobster Boil dinner at the Princess Beach Club.  Welcome cocktails are included, plus live entertainment all night.

The cost is $95, plus gratuities, and tickets are available on Ptix.bm.

On Saturday, September 8th at 6pm, join Marcus outside on the Marina for a meet and greet with some of Bermuda’s top food producers. The evening will start with welcome cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a Q&A session with guest speakers, followed by a custom dinner on the Marina.

On Sunday, September 9th from 11am to 3pm, Marcus’ is serving up Sunday Brunch and introducing a new menu item. Soak up the atmosphere with music by DJ Choice.

The Yoga Centre will work with students with shoulder, neck and upper-back problems, and/or weakness in arms, hands and wrists at Arms, Shoulders, Neck & Upper-Back: A Therapeutic 8-Week Course, starting on Tuesday, September 11th.

Running weekly at noon, this class will teach students valuable techniques in strengthening finger, hands and wrists; to work with and improve arm strength, shoulder soreness or weakness and/or frozen shoulder, as well as rotator cuff injuries, and misalignment in the upper back and chest. Students will come away with improvement in upper back, shoulders and neck, a more open heart and chest, plus an improved posture and enhance breathing ability.

The class is taught by a certified yoga teacher and Education provider under Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500) at the highest level and certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with ability to work safely with students and provide adaptations as required.

The cost of the full course is $150.

The September edition of the monthly Ciné Club from L’Alliance Française des Bermudes will be showing: L’Ecole Buissonnière (School of Life) on Tuesday, September 11th.

Screening in the Tradewinds Auditorium at 8pm, all members of the public are welcome to watch this french comedy/drama with English Subtitles, by the Film Director, Nicolas Vanier, starring Laurent Gerra, François Cluzet, Valérie Karsenti et Eric Elmosnino.

“Trapped behind the high walls of an austere orphanage in suburban Paris, Paul has only ever known one home. His chance to discover the great wide world comes when a bohemian couple, Célestine and Borel, take him back to their countryside home.…” The film is 1hour and 56 minutes long.

The cost is $7 for BUEI/AF Members and students, and $12 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop.

Geared to those new to yoga and/or those wishing to revive their practice, the Yoga Centre on Victoria Street are offering Beginner’s Yoga: A 12-Week Course, starting on Thursday, September 13th.

Running weekly from 5:30pm, this is said to be one of their all-time favourite classes, providing step by step instruction into the practice of yoga. Students will develop greater confidence in doing the poses, learn effective deep breathing techniques and deep relaxation stills to relieve stress and foster healthy sleep. Greater strength and flexibility are also immediate takeaways from this course.

The course instructor is an E-RYT 500 YACEP, Yoga Alliance certified teacher/teachers trainer and community Education provider as well as a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Yoga Teachers Association, and is therefore equipped to work with student abilities and challenges through adaptations, ensuring individual growth while putting safety first.

The cost of the full course is $260.

The Yoga Centre on Victoria Street is offering Structure, Strength & Core: A 12-Week Course, starting on Saturday, September 15th.

Running weekly from 11:30am, this 12-week course is designed to ensure a steady foundation, notable strength and stability with a view to assist students to become more aware of their confidence, strengths and weaknesses (head to toe) and learn greater body awareness. Individual adjustments to poses for renewed confidence and safety and improvement in the look and feel of the poses are an intricate part of this course.

The course is taught by an E-RYT 500 certified yoga teacher and trainer with Yoga Alliance as well as a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

The cost of the full course is $260.

Ladies of all ages are invited to come out and feel uplifted at I AM on Sunday, September 16th.

Starting at 4pm at the BIU, this event is geared towards women, both young and mature, who wish to gain confidence, perseverance and willpower. A dynamic panel of guest speakers ensure that you’ll leave feeling empowered.

The cost is $50 for early bird tickets purchased before August 27th from Ptix.bm, and $65 thereafter. Tickets are also from Jazzy Boutique.

The Yoga Centre on Victoria Street are offering Children’s Yoga: A 10-Week Course, starting on Saturday, September 22nd.

Held weekly at 1:15pm, the class is for children between the ages of 6 and 11 years, designed to help them develop self-confidence, self-esteem, contentment and compassion, while building strength, flexibility, focus and concentration, using the breath to calm their bodies, minds, thoughts and emotions.

Through the playful practice of yoga poses, kids will also improve postures, motor coordination and balance. Simple breathing techniques, deep relaxation and a simple mindfulness practice are also intricate to this course to help children better cope with conflicts, stress and over-stimulation from the busyness of our world today.

Classes are taught in a joyful manner, sometimes using story-telling and rhyme. Children come away with a feeling of well-being, peace and greater imagination and, through time, they develop healthy habits of self-care to last them a lifetime.

The cost for the full course is $150 per student.

Under the Distinguished Patronage of Lady Wanda Brown, Lady Kristin Burt and Lady Olga Scott, A Mother & Daughter Sip of Tea Soiree will take place on Sunday, September 23rd.

This will be held at 3pm at The Island Brasserie at Rosewood, in celebration of the Progressive Labour Party’s 20 year Anniversary of a date with destiny led by Dame Jennifer Smith, PLP Constituency #2.

The cost is $50 per adult, $30 per child, and corporate tables of 8 are also available for $1000. Invitations are available for purchase from www.Ptix.bm.

The Institute of Internal Auditors (Bermuda) Chapter will be hosting training sessions on Integrating Enterprise Risk Management into the Business on Monday, September 24th and Tuesday, 25th.

This will be held on both days, from 9am until 4pm, and lunch will be provided. Attendees will also be awarded CPE certificates at the end of the training

The cost for IIA members is $350 for 2 days and $250 for one day, or $375 for 2 days and $275 for one day, for non-members.
