Can you believe it’s nearly the end of January already?! Here’s your weekly update with all of the latest events that have been added to the Bermuda Events Calendar since last week. Keep your children active, having fun and jumping all over the place at the JUMP Rope Day Camp on Friday, January 25th.

Running from 8:30am until 5:30pm at Victor Scott Primary School, this camp is open to children ages 6 and up.

The cost is $50 for the day and you can register by completing the form on their FacebookPage/JumpRopeBermuda.

Another JUMP Rope Day Camp will be held on Friday, February 1st.

Due to Teacher Administration Day, Masterworks is offering a One-Day Art Camp for students who will be out on Friday, January 25th.

Running from 8:30am until 5:30pm at Masterworks, the camp is open to children between the ages of 5 and 12.

The cost is $60 for members,  or $75 for non-members.

Another One-Day Art Camp will be held on Friday, February 1st, due to the celebration of BUT 100th Celebration.

A new exhibition is opening at Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art on Friday, January 25th.

441: A Group Show will feature 4 of outstanding artists; Alshante Foggo, Jayde Gibbons, Jaylaka Jayathunga, and Carlos Santana, each with different styles merging to create an exhibit unmatched.

The opening reception starts on Friday at 5:30pm and the show will run until February 14th.

The Hamilton Princess invites you to join them at Marcus’ for a Blind Wine Pairing Dinner on Friday, January 25th.

From 6:30pm until 9pm at the restaurant, you can join their Chef and Sommelier for a fun and relaxed evening featuring a blind wine tasting, French cuisine and French wine. Six different wines will be presented, as well as a chance to win a magnum bottle of wine.

The cost is $160, plus gratuities.

BUEI Films Presents: The Nutcracker on Saturday, January 26th.

A winter treat for the whole family and a classic with a special place in the hearts of ballet fans around the world. Peter Wright’s production for the The Royal Ballet keeps true to the spirit of this Russian ballet classic, with period details and dancing snowflakes. The many solo roles and ensembles put the world-class skills of the company to the fore in this winter classic.

At 4pm the film begins in BUEI’s Tradewinds Auditorium. Harbourfront opens for dinner at 6pm and ticket holders are entitled to 10% off dinner (food only) before or after the film. Marcus’ famous family brunch is better than ever, with their Brunch Revolution, starting on Sunday, January 27th.

From 11am until 3pm, all of your favourite breakfast items, such as Chicken and Waffles and Mac N Cheese, are on the menu alongside a new Taco Station and free-flowing drinks, including Veuve Clicquot or a premium Dom Perignon option. To top it all off, you can kick back and listen to the soothing sounds of local musicians as you enjoy a lazy Sunday overlooking the harbour.

The cost is $54, per adult, or $37 for children aged 6-12, plus gratuities.

Enjoy free-flowing Champagne with Brunch for $94, or opt for Dom Perignon for $220, plus gratuities. Free-flowing Champagne is limited to two hours only with the option to extend for an additional $35 per hour.

This event will repeat every Sunday throughout February.

BUEI Screens Presents: Return of the Hero on Sunday, January 27th.

France 1809. The charming Captain Neuville (Academy Award Winner Jean Dujardin) is set to marry the naïve Pauline when the war breaks out, forcing Neuville to depart for the battlefield. After not hearing from the captain for months, Pauline soon starts to become ill with worry, pushing her sister Elizabeth (Mélanie Laurent) to write fake letters on behalf of Neuville thinking he would never come back. When Neuville finally returns home unexpectedly, he is welcomed in glory but in truth is a war deserter and an opportunistic coward. A suspicious Elizabeth is determined to expose the real Neuville and the two imposters are about to start a ruthless fight, conspiring against each other using the best tricks they can find. 2018 / Comedy / PG-13 / 90 min

The Hamilton Princess hotel invites you to Crown & Anchor for Coffee and Crodos, a new menu offering, starting on Monday, January 28th.

Try out the hottest new addition to the pastry scene, the crodo: flaky croissants meet donuts for the perfect afternoon indulgence. Try a selection with a table-side presentation of Chemex Coffee.

Coffee and Crodos is offered from 3pm until 5pm, Monday through Friday, every week until the end of March.

The cost is $6.50 for Crodos, or $8.50 for Chemex Coffee. Crodos and Coffee combined is $14.

The Bermuda Poultry Fanciers Society Annual Poultry Show  will run from Friday, February 1st until Sunday, February 3rd.

This will be held from 9am until 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9am to 3pm on Sunday, in the Jack King Building at the Botanical Gardens. The show will also includes rabbits, pigeons & cavies.

Entry is free and all are welcome.

The entry deadline for participation is Friday, January 25th and forms are available from Pet Care (South Road, Devonshire), Noah’s Ark Feed and Supply (Middle Road, Devonshire), or by contacting Esther Douglas on the email below. Completed forms should be returned to Pet Care or Noah’s Ark.

Bermuda Cancer and Health with host a Relay For Life Kick Off event at City Hall on Monday, February 4th.

The event starts at noon, and they invite everyone out to learn more about this year’s relay and how you can get involved. You are encouraged to sponsor, volunteer or participate and they will be available until 2pm to answer any questions that you may have.

Be sure to save the date for the 6th annual Relay For Life, on Friday, May 17th, and Saturday, May 18th.

Under the distinguished patronage of retired Deputy Principal Rosemary Matthews, the Class of 2019 presents: Mr. and Miss CedarBridge on Saturday, February 9th.

This will be held from 7pm until 9pm at Cedarbridge Academy where all are welcome to attend.

Register your budding artist for Masterworks Museum February Mid-Term Art Camp, running from Monday, February 11th to Friday, February 15th.

The camp is open to children between the ages of 5 and 12, and will encourage them to explore their artistic side while being inspired by some of the great works featured at the Masterworks Museum, and the beauty of the Botanical Gardens.

Drop-off is between 8:30am and 9am, and collection is from 5pm until 5:30pm.

The cost is $300 for members or $350 for non-members.

Make yourself feel special and enjoy a fun-filled, uplifting, and creative evening with the girls this Valentines Day at the doTerra Make & Take Evening on Tuesday, February 12th.

From 6pm until 7:30pm at Lotus on Victoria Street, you will learn about the history of essential oils, as well as the different fragrant notes and common aromatic scent profiles to create and customise your own toxin-free essential oil fragrance. Participants will also learn healthy lifestyle tips for detoxing, weight loss, and how to use doTERRA essential oils to make yourself feel good everyday. Enjoy a sharing of romantic poetry and Valentine’s tips as you take time to unwind and destress. At the end of the workshop you will come away with your own, personalised essential oil fragrance.

The cost is $15 for the class. Seasonal refreshments will be served. Wear comfortable clothing.

The instructor of this workshop is Isabelle Weber, a qualified Aromatherapist and doTERRA Wellness Advocate, Women’s Wellness Practitioner & Child Adolescent and Family Therapist. She has been using essential oils in her practice for the last 18 years and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Women’s Health.

Adults and kids are invited to both FryDays in Hamilton and the Trampoline Park in Dockyard for the Jump Jam Fundraiser on Friday, February 15th.

From 5pm until 9pm at each of these locations, you can jump into giving back with 25% of the takings during this time to be donated to the Bermuda Red Cross.

Prices will vary, starting at $15.

Bermuda Cancer and Health are hosting four Relay For Life Team Captain Meetings over the next few months, starting on Tuesday, February 19th.

From 5:30pm until 6:30pm at AXA XL on Bermudiana Road, these meetings are to answer questions and give presentations to help the team captains through the process of planning for Relay 2019.

Subsequent meetings will be held on:

Tuesday, March 19th – Second Team Captain Meeting

Tuesday, April 16th – Third Team Captain

Wednesday, May 15th – Volunteer meeting, Team Pack Collection, Late Registration and Bank Night.

Teachers Rugby Presents: Fight Night XVIII The Resurrection on Saturday, February 23rd.

Teachers’ Fight Night is the longest running and most prestigious boxing event in Bermuda. A full fight card is now in place including the biggest names in Bermuda boxing and the traditional rugby club grudge matches alongside football and hockey. It promises to be another epic night.

Doors open at 6pm at the Berkeley Gym, and the first bout starts at 7pm. Headline Fights will include: Andre Lambe, Tyler Christopher, and Corey Boyce.

With limited capacity it is important to purchase tickets in advance as a sell out crowd is expected.

Tickets are $54 for general admission, or $135 for VIP which includes open bar and gallery views as well as the regular ringside options. Tickets are available from www.Ptix.bm/Resurrection.

Have a glass or two at this year’s BVA Wine Tasting event on Friday, March 1st.

This will be held from 6pm until 9pm at Goslings Wine Cellar. All proceeds will go towards the Women’s National Volleyball Team.

Under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency The Governor John Rankin CMG, the Bermuda Red Cross is hosting a fundraising event titled An Evening in the Enchanted Forest on Friday, March 22nd.

This will be held from 7pm until 11pm in the Grand Ballroom at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club.

Cocktails start at 7pm, followed by dinner at 8pm. There will be several opportunities to win prizes from their Cork Barrel, Money Tree and Tombola. There will also be a Giving Tree to accept donations, as well as a live auction.

Dress code is smart casual.

Tickets are $200 per person which includes a welcome drink, and four-course meal with a glass of wine. There will also be a cash bar, and corporate tables are available upon request.

Spring is the perfect time for children to get creative, so to welcome the season Masterworks is offering 2 weeks of Spring Break Art Camp starting on Monday, April 1st.

Drop off is between 8:30am and 9am and collection is from 5pm until 5:30pm. The camp is open to kids between the ages of 5 and 12.

Week 1 will run from April 1st until 5th.
Week 2 is from April 8th until April 12th.

The cost per week is $300 for members or $350 for non members.
