The Bermuda Garden Club is hosting an Open House & Gardens for the public at Palm Grove House and Gardens on Saturday, November 23rd.

From 10am until 3pm, they are offering guided walking tours of the property, as the house will be fully decorated. The event will feature a Craft & Bake stall, promising lots of great Christmas gift ideas, including garden-related items for purchase. A children’s planting area will be set up so they can also take home their own plant, while The Bermuda Rose Society will have potted roses for sale.

Keith’s Kitchen food truck will also be on site.

Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for students between the ages of 10 and 18 years, and free for children under 10 years.

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs have unveiled this season’s Uncover the Arts Programme, running from now until March 31st, 2020.

This package of tours and activities for our visitors include highlights such as the Guided Walking Tour of the City of Hamilton, Royal Naval Dockyard Tour, Skirling Ceremony, St. George’s Walking Tour & Historical Re-Enactment, Bermuda Cookery Demonstration, Somerset Boat Tour, Bermuda Gombey Revue, African Bermuda Dispersion Cultural Tour, and Lunchtime Cultural Chats.

Long Story Short and Just Dreams Event Planning and Decor presents a unique dinner series inspired by the Zodiac calendar, at In The Stars: Sagittarius Edition on Saturday, November 23rd.

The event will take place at The Tempest on Water Street in St. George’s, where you can enjoy a Sagittarius-themed 3 course dinner followed by an afterparty and dancing to music by DJ Riddim Star.

Cocktails start at 7pm, followed by dinner at 8pm.

The menu includes…

Appetizers: Kale and Grilled Watermelon Salad with Candied Pecans; Hearty Chicken and Dumplings
Entrees: Braised Brisket with Onion Rings and a Peppercorn Demi; Blackened Grouper with Parsnip Puree; Root Vegetable Vegan Ravioli

The cost per person is $125 and includes dinner and a welcome cocktail. Or you can book a table of 10 for $1125 for a 10% discount – so one person eats free. To add wine pairing to your meal is an additional $50 per person.

Grab the girls and come kick off the holiday season with an afternoon of holiday cheer and fresh evergreen Wreath Decorating at The Loren on Sunday, November 24th.

From 3pm until 6pm at the hotel in Tuckers Town, the talented florists of Demco will teach you how to embellish your own evergreen wreath. Balls, Baubles, Ribbons, Bling and Ting Ting will be provided, but feel free to bring any special items you may want to include in your wreath creation.

Delicious snacks and a welcome holiday drink are included. Merry Mimosas and other Jingle Juice will be available for purchase. Guests can also enjoy a tour of The Sisley Spa at The Loren, and finish the evening with dinner at the amazing Pink Beach Restaurant for an additional cost.

The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard presents their annual small works show: Lots and Lots of Little Paintings on Sunday, November 24th.

The opening reception is from 3:30pm until 5pm at the studio in Dockyard, where works in all media by Bermuda’s leading artists will be available for sale, affordably priced due to size.

Come and find a perfect gift for packing or placing under the tree, and join them for a glass of bubbly and home made nibbles as they celebrate the upcoming season.

The show will remain open through January 2020.

BUEI Films presents: Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable on Sunday, November 24th

The film tells the story of surfer Bethany Hamilton, who at age 13 was out surfing when she was attacked by a 15-foot tiger shark, a run-in that cost Hamilton her left arm. But not only did Hamilton survive the attack, she was back on the competitive surfing circuit less than a year later.

More than a decade later, Hamilton, now a mother, undertakes her greatest challenge: chasing a toddler and the biggest wave of her career.

Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable is the untold story of the heart of a champion and her resilience against all odds to become one of the leading professional surfers of our time. Bethany Hamilton is continuously rewriting the rules on being a fearless athlete, and brings new meaning to the phrase “surfs like a girl.”

The films starts at 5:15pm in the Tradewinds Auditorium. The Harbourfront opens for dinner at 6pm and ticket holders are entitled to 10% off dinner (food only) after the film. Reservations required. Project management professionals interested in pursuing a globally recognised certification can come out to the Information Session on the Project Management Certification program offered at the Bermuda College, on Tuesday, November 26th.

The session is from 6pm until 7:30pm in the Blue Room (H115) at the College, where you can learn about their new partnership with Global Knowledge through the PACE Division, and take steps to advance your career.

The Reefs Hotel invites you to join them for Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 28th.

Dinner is from 6pm until 9pm at Aqua Terra Restaurant, where they are offering a three-course set menu. Solo Contemporary guitarist, Randy Lambert, will provide live entertainment starting at 7:30pm.

The cost of dinner is $55 per person, plus gratuities. Take out is also available.

The Caledonian Society of Bermuda invites you to attend the St. Andrew’s Day Ball celebration on Friday, November 29th.

The celebration is from 6:30pm until 2am at the Hamilton Princess Hotel, where guests will enjoy a great evening of dinner and dancing into the wee hours to music provided by the Bermuda Pipe Band and DJ Felix.

Tickets are $175 each and include a four-course dinner with half a bottle of wine per person.

Bring the family out for some holiday fun and bargain hunting at the annual St. Anthony’s Church Christmas Fair & Car Boot Sale Combo on Saturday, November 30th.

The fair is from 9am until 4pm at St. Anthony’s Church in Warwick, and on the big field located just behind price rite, where you can enjoy great food, bargain hunting, and other family-friendly activities including a Kiddie Corner with games for children and a visit from Santa. Santa will arrive by fire truck at noon, and other entertainment includes Tony Bari on the piano, the Bermuda School of Music Steel Band, Highland Dancing, In Motion School of Dance, and Zumba Kids.

There will be lots of vendors selling crafts, used items, plants, and more, as well as a Raffle Draw for a chance to win great prizes including holiday gift baskets.

Plenty of hot food will be for sale, as well as baked goods and fresh Portuguese donuts.

Admission is free, and raffles are $5 each. To be a vendor the cost is $25 for a table, or $20 if you bring your own.

Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club invites you to a night of festive celebration at their Christmas Kick-Off on Saturday, November 30th.

At 6pm in the Hotel Lobby you can join them for the Christmas Tree Lighting & Gingerbread House Reveal with complimentary drinks and Christmas cookies. Children will enjoy a visit from Santa and marvel at the spectacular gingerbread house, big enough for them to stand inside.

An open air Christmas Market featuring local vendors offering Bermudian crafts, gifts and entertainment will also be set-up in the lobby and on the flagpole terrace, from 6pm until 10pm.

BELCO is excited to announce the return of the Festival of Lights to Botanical Gardens on Saturday, November 30th.

The gardens will be transformed into a magical wonderland for the public to enjoy and explore, from 6pm to 9pm, every Saturday evening until December 21st.

BELCO will be collecting donations for charity, as well as selling food and beverages.

All proceeds from the event will support WindReach, which offers therapeutic and education experiences for people with varying physical and intellectual abilities. On average, 200 participants, ranging from preschoolers to seniors, benefit from the programmes at WindReach Bermuda on a weekly basis.

Treat your children to a Kids Night Out and take the time for a date night or to do Christmas shopping, without the whining, while your children enjoy fun activities in a safe, supervised environment at the Youth Library on Friday, December 6th.

From 6pm until 9:30pm in the Youth Library’s auditorium, children between the ages of 7 and 10 years old are welcome to come and enjoy dinner, stories, games and a movie.

The Youth Library invites you to their family event: Kwanzaa Story & Craft on Saturday, December 14th.

From 11am until 1pm in the Youth Library Auditorium, you can learn about the week-long, annual celebration honouring African heritage and traditional values in nations of the African diaspora. Kwanzaa is observed from December 26th to January 1st, culminating in gift-giving and a feast.

The event is free to attend and suitable for all ages, starting from 3 years and older.

Bermuda Gymnastics Association’s Holiday Camp will run from Monday to Friday, December 16th to 20th.

Kids between the ages of 4 and 12 are invited to come and have fun with them, all week at their St. David’s location.

Camp runs from 9am to 4pm, at a cost of $305 per week, per child. Or kids can just join for half days from 9am to 12:30pm, or 12:30pm until 4pm, at $205 per week.

At no additional cost you can drop off kids as early as 8:30am, or pick them up late up until 5:30pm. Transportation to and from St. David’s from the Botanical Gardens is also available and included in the price.

Need some time alone to do your Christmas shopping? Bermuda Gymnastics Association invites you to leave your children with them at their Drop & Shop days on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, December 23rd, 24th and 27th.

They have planned a few great days for them, with lots of games, gymnastics, and fun to be had at their St. David’s location.

Morning sessions are from 9:30am until 12:30pm, and Afternoon sessions from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

The cost is $45 per session, per child.

Christmas comes but once a year, and Cafe Lido invites you to celebrate with some holiday cheer at their Christmas Day Brunch Buffet on Wednesday, December 25th.

From 11am until 3pm at the restaurant located at Elbow Beach Hotel, they are hosting a full international brunch buffet. The first sitting starts between 11am and 11:30pm, and the second sitting starts between 1:30pm to 2pm.

The cost is $75 per person, plus gratuities and 50% discount for children under 10.
