We’ve reached the end of the month of April and normally this time of year would bring lots of fun outdoor events to the calendar, but as the number of positive COVID-19 tests rises in Bermuda it’s more important now than ever that we stay at home to slow the spread of this dangerous virus. So here’s a round up of online activities to assist you as we shelter in place and stay safe.

Taking part in Zoom meetings and want to have a picture perfect background? The Bermuda Tourism Authority has put together a collection of Bermudaful scenes for you to choose from, plus instructions on how to add them to your Zoom background.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, Masterworks has decided to turn their ‘Cinco de Mayo’ Happy Hour into an interactive cocktail making class via Instagram Live!
Join Homer’s Café Head Chef Jorgè Lucero Navarro for “Quarantine Cocktails” Cinco de Mayo Edition. Tuesday, May 5th, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm on the Masterworks Instagram @masterworksmuseum. Chef Jorgè will be giving you a first-class lesson on how to make fresh guacamole, a tequila sunrise, a margarita, AND a mojito. In this time of crisis, the Bermuda Society of Arts wants to recognize the vital importance of the arts and artists and is calling all artists to participate in their Virtual Exhibition. Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, May 5th. Submit up to 6 works in any medium to bsoa.art@gmail.com.
Take part in a free Healing Kemetic Yoga online session with Latoya on Thursday, May 7th, at 6pm, organized by Friends of the Bermuda National Library. Blue Water Divers invites photographers to share their best underwater photos for their #bluewaterwindow Photo Competition. Not a diver? Share your best ocean photo! All photos submitted will be judged on a viewer voting scale, and the photos with the top-10 ‘Likes’ will be judged by an accomplished underwater photographer for the prize categories. Tag @bluewaterdiversbda and use #bluewaterwindow to enter. Deadline for submissions in Sunday, May 24th. For details visit their Facebook page or email diveshop@divebermuda.com.
The You Go Girl annual relay has always been a running event in the spirit of having fun in support of the Womens Resource Centre, which is experiencing their highest volume of calls at this time of crisis. As the WRC is in continued need of funding, they have decided to hold a virtual race on June 7th! To participate pull out an old evening gown or dress and get dressed to the nines, then run any distance you like on the morning of Sunday, June 7th in your fancy gear.
