September 12th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda,

Schools are back in and its officially time for us to get back into our fall routines. To help you start planning ahead, here is your weekly update with all of the latest events that have been added to the Bermuda Calendar since last week. Restoration Fellowship will celebrate their 5th Pastoral Anniversary at Fairmont Southampton on Sunday, September 16th.

Services will be held in the Amphitheatre at 10:30am and 6:30pm, and you are invited to join this triple celebration of their 16th Church Anniversary, their Pastor’s 5th Pastoral Anniversary and the proclamation of the elevation of their Pastor, Dr. Roxanne Haynes to Bishop Designate.

September 5th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda! 

We’re officially into the month of September and, despite the fact that summer is basically over now, there is no shortage of things to do on this sunshiny island of ours! Here are all the latest events that have been added to the calendar since last week. Don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of this post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.

 

 

Princeton University’s all male signature a cappella group,The Tigertones will perform live at Orange Bay Company, offering Melodies for Meals on Wednesday, September 5th.

The performance starts at Noon, and 100% of the proceeds are to go to the Salvation Army who assist Bermuda’s hungry. The Salvation Army provide meals for between 50 – 80 folks,  5 nights a week, 52 weeks a year. Donations of $5.50 will pay for one meal and are being collected and counted by Orange Bay Company between September 5th-8th.

All are welcome, and Orange Bay Company will generously give 30% off any purchase from 5th to 8th of September if you have donated one or more meals.

August 29th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Masterworks Museum are showing a new exhibit in the Rick Faries Gallery, entitled By the Sea which is on display now, until Friday, August 31st.

Bermuda’s seascapes has inspired artists for generations. Stop by to be wowed and inspired by artists interpretation of Bermuda’s Beautiful Oceans.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and the gallery is temporarily closed on Sundays. Masterworks is closed on public holidays.  General admission is $5, or free for members and children under 12.

August 22nd, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda,

The calendar is quickly filling up with lots of new events to keep you busy right into the fall season. Here are the latest ones that have been added since last week, and as always, be sure to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of this post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in previous posts.

 

The World Heritage Centre will be hosting the next Bermudian Heartbeats Lecture with a screening of The Ivory Ape on Wednesday, August 22nd.

Starting at 6pm, the film is a Rankin/Bass production which tells the tale of an ivory ape who escapes from a freighter and makes its way to Bermuda. Two anthropologists want to save it, but the local authorities hire a big-game hunter to track it down and kill it.

Free tickets are limited and available from the office of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, the World Heritage Centre, or Bdatix.bm.

August 15th, 2018 Bermuda Calendar Update

Good morning Bermuda!

Summer is nearly over but don’t worry, there is still lots to do on this beautiful island of ours. Join Cobb’s Hill Gospel Chapel for their Annual Community BBQ on Saturday, August 18th.

Starting at 5pm at Cobb’s Hill Gospel Chapel in Warwick, there you can enjoy food, snowballs, popcorn, games, fun castles, gombeys, music, entertainment.

This is a free event. All guests are welcome to attend a special Community Church Service at 11:15 am on Sunday, August 19th.
