Happy Halloween Kids!

I’m glad you all seem to like the new-look website.  It’s much easier to find everything and there’ll be a few more little improvements coming up.  After Halloween, the next big event on the Bermuda Calendar is, of course, World Rugby Classic Week, which is now in its 25th year! I have included a little WRC special at the end of this post – no skipping ahead!

Pickled Onion are continuing the Halloween celebrations until the weekend as they will be hosting a Halloween Party both tonight and Saturday night.  There is no cover charge either night and they promise great decor, drinks specials and music by Graffiti Park from 10pm until 2am.

Hi Kids!

The Internet Gods were not smiling down on me yesterday but I’m hoping for a little more luck today!  The new-look website should be available by the end of today but, don’t worry, you’ll still be kept up-to-date no matter what version of the site is up.  Here are the latest Bermuda events:

Now that summer has officially ended, Lemon Tree are trying to empty out their fridge and would like us to help this Friday, October 26th!  If you attended any of their Random Animal in the Park Parties this summer (Pig, Fish or Cow in the Park), then you simply have to wear your tshirt to get 2-for-1 drinks all night.  If you didn’t get one already, you can buy one for $25.  The All in the Park Party will also be the last Lemon Tree Happy Hour of the season and will run from 5pm until midnight.

Morning Ladies and Gents!

Hopefully, you have all survived Rafael unscathed!  Does it seem to you like all the 2012 hurricanes are just playing with us so far? Let’s not complain about that though, as it sure beats the alternative! Although it would be kind of nice if just one would give us a day off work – what’s with all the weekends and evenings, Mother Nature? Anyway, here’s what’s coming up in Bermuda:

Think there would be a large amount of interest in a Conversational Portuguese class at Bermuda College?  Vasco Da Gama, the Portuguese culture club, think so and would like your support!  A representative will be at Vasco Da Gama Club at 51 Reid Street tonight from 8pm and many different topics will be addressed.  The meeting is open to everyone.  For more information, contact 292-7196 or vasco@logic.bm.

Morning Troops!

We’re lucky enough to still have blue skies for the most part so far this month.  It is getting very close to that inbetween time of year that makes it really difficult to choose what to wear in the morning though.  I’m already painfully slow in the mornings so anything that requires brain power before I’ve had my first caffeine of the day can be quite disastrous – good thing that there are lots of Bermuda events coming up to distract me:

Schools To Know invite you to their International Boarding Schools Fair  Featuring Schools That Offer Additional Academic Support on Wednesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 11th. Over thirty well-known and respected boarding schools are coming to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess to share their programme information with you. Between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on each evening, you can learn what these schools have to offer and representatives will give you details on their programmes, facilities and financial aid opportunities. There will also be a parent workshop on Innovations in Learning: Research into Practice, led by Helen Waldron, Learning Specialist from The Forman School from 4.30pm until 5.30pm.  This event is free with no registration required.  For more information, contact tory@schoolstoknow.com or see http://schoolstoknow.com/.
