Morning Troops!
I don’t know about you but I love having this extra hour of daylight in the evening – I am rarely productive in the mornings anyway so don’t really care if it’s still dark when I wake up. Anyway, lots of Bermuda events coming up over the next few weeks:
A sure sign that sunny days are coming back, Wine Down Happy Hour at Lemon Tree is back this Friday, March 15th. The relaunch coincides with their St. Paddy’s celebration featuring Irish grub, green beer and Guinness. For any newbies or tourists, the legendary Lemon Tree Wine Down Happy Hour runs from 5pm until midnight throughout the summer with a DJ and regular drink specials. Instead of a cash bar, you buy drinks tickets at $7 each or 10 for $60, meaning that the bar service is much quicker and it’s easier to get rounds in because all drinks are the same price. Later in the year, Lemon Tree will also open out to Par-la-Ville Park, depending how crowded it gets. For more details see their Facebook Page or website at www.lemontreecafe.bm.
Golfers, are you looking for a new challenge over the summer months? The 2013 6 for 6 Golf Tournament will run over 6 months from April to September and will be played in 6 different rounds. Last year’s tournament featured all the full size golf courses except for Mid Ocean. There will be prizes for the first 3 places at each round and in the overall competition and it is structured so that each player can miss one round and stay competitive plus a handicap system in order to level the playing field. The entry fee is $100, which includes a golf shirt, and green fees are payable before each round. The closing date for entries is this Friday, March 15th. To sign up, contact Roedolf van der Westhuizen on 6for6Golf@gmail.com or 704-4936.
