Hospitality Month Call For Entries

To recognise and celebrate the industry’s economic importance to Bermuda, April has been designated Hospitality Month.  Each week (Monday-Sunday), the Bermuda Hospitality Institute (BHI) will be promoting a different area of the Island through a Hospitality Trail guide, featuring eco & cultural activities, historical architecture, leisure activities, dining and accommodations.  April 1st and 7th will be spotlighting Central & City (City of Hamilton, Devonshire, Pembroke), April 8th to 14th will be East End (Hamilton Parish and East), April 15th to 21st will be Sound & Shore (all shorelines N/S/E/W, including bays, inlets, harbors, ponds) and April 22nd to 28th is the West End (Southampton-Dockyard).  If your organisation is in the hospitality industry, they are requesting that your organization offer a presentation or event of some type on the Monday during the week your area is spotlighted, as well as at least one other day of the week. This could be an open house, property tour, etc.  They are also looking for a special product/service/discount throughout the week to encourage use of your service.  Your activity/presentation/incentive should be geared to residents however, unless stated otherwise, anyone – residents and visitors alike, will be able to participate. All activities will be promoted in the newspaper and on radio, and included in Hospitality Month advertising through BHI.  If interested in getting involved, contact BHI to discuss your ideas by Friday, February 22nd.  An important part of Hospitality Month will be the BHI Moongate Awards, recognising organisations that demonstrate a commitment to setting and maintaining standards of excellence that enhance and strengthen Bermuda’s Hospitality industry. Entries are being accepted until March 15th. For more information, or to submit online, visit http://www.bhi.bm/website/?page_id=1752.
