Happy Friday everyone!
Just a quick round-up of upcoming Bermuda events before the weekend:
Two weeks today is Good Friday, which in Bermuda means that the sky will be decorated with colourful kites! Yes, you could buy one but it’s much more fun to make your own. Chris Maxwell will be offering Free Kite Making Lessons at the Stationery Store on the corner of Reid and Burnaby tomorrow and on Saturday, March 23rd between 10am and 4pm. All the materials to make the kite, including sticks, string, glue and tissue paper are available for sale in store. For more information, call 295-6311.
You are invited to dress in green as BermudaSalsaMagic is hosting Let’s Get Lucky, a special St. Patrick’s Salsa Party tomorrow night, Saturday, March 16th. From 9pm until 1am, you can enjoy salsa and bachata all night for a $5 cover charge. For more information, contact www.SalsaGoddess.Me.
The Bermuda National Trust are hosting a discussion on Unlocking The Past as part of their popular Museum Chats programme on Sunday, March 17th. Dr. Brent Fortenberry, Lecturer in Archaeology at Boston University will discuss the basics of archaeological excavation and interpretation with interesting stories about artefacts found at local sites. You will also have the opportunity to meet Museums’ Manager, Peter Frith, as well as the team of dedicated volunteers who provide their time and talent to put on these informative and fun events. This event will be at Verdmont in Smith’s at 3pm, with tea served at 4pm. The cost is $20 for BNT members and $25 for non-members. Seating is limited but you can reserve your spot by contacting 236-6483 or palmetto@bnt.bm.
