Morning Troops!
Welcome to the first post of September and the start of Lobster Season on the island!
Here is the lowdown on what has been added to the calendar since last week’s Bermuda events update.
As always, don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap section at the bottom of this post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in earlier posts:
September marks the opening month of Lobster Season in Bermuda and, to celebrate the fresh seafood arriving back on your plates, the Fairmont Southampton’s Ocean Club is thrilled to host Lobsterfest all month long.
Offering lobster specials and a 4-course lobster menu, the Ocean Club is open daily for dinner from 6pm until 10pm, presenting the freshest local catch in a relaxed sea-side setting. Dress code is anything from swimwear to seersucker.
Start with a delicious Lobster Volcano Roll with wasabi mayo, then enjoy Lobster & Potato Cake with pico de gallo as well as a half Bermuda Spiny Lobster with grilled asparagus. For dessert, savour a pineapple carpaccio with coconut sorbet and ginger soil.
The cost of the set menu is $99 per person, plus gratuities.

Starting at 8.30pm in the Fairmont Southampton’s Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre, Nadanja, one of Bermuda’s premier entertainers, will celebrate his special day with a comedy show featuring some of his international comedian friends – B-Phlat from Philadelphia, Imagine from New York and T.K.Kirkland from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Turning 40 is a big deal so Nadanja has also secured two celebrities to be a part of his event, namely Keisha Knight-Pulliam (better known as Rudy Huxtable from The Cosby Show) and Lamman Rucker (from Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?), who will also grace the stage that night. But of course, the show would not be complete without two of our local comics, Bootsie and Jah, who will also be performing.
Tickets are $65 for general admission and $125 for VIPs, and available from Kit “n” Caboodle, Rotisserie Grill, 27th Century Boutique and www.BDAtix.bm. Part of the proceeds will go towards Bermuda Autism support and education. VIP tickets include a meet and greet with the celebrities, table seating and a complimentary drink.
