Morning Troops!

Hope you’re making the most of the last few days of August.  We might complain about the humidity now but I’m sure we’ll miss it when it starts getting a little chilly again.  We have lots of time before we have to think about winter though – here’s what’s coming up in Bermuda:

Great Gatsby

A great opportunity to watch some recent blockbusters under the stars as the Moonlight Movie Series presents the Department of Park’s Movies in the Park on Friday, August 30th and Saturday, August 31st at the Botanical Gardens.  From 6pm on both evenings, there will be DJ music, competitions, giveaways, food vendors and a KiddieLand.  On the Friday, the first movie, Epic (rated PG), will start at 8.30pm, after the sun goes down, followed by the late feature, Oblivion at 10.30pm.  On the Saturday, the family feature at 8.30pm is Frankenweenie (rated PG), followed by The Great Gatsby (PG-13) at 10.30pm.    There will be recycling on site and free water for everyone with re-useable water containers.  Admission is free and all are welcome.  For more details, contact info@moonlightmovieseries.com.

Morning Troops!

Hope you all had a great holiday and have now fully-recovered.  There were definitely many sad post-Cup Match weekend faces on Monday, not to mention the ones who looked like they were positively hanging by a thread!  Think that your summer fun is now over?  Wrong!  Here is the latest round-up of upcoming Bermuda events:

Aqua

A good excuse for an excursion to the West End, the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard presents its juried members show, Aqua.  The show features a variety of craft and art with the theme of Aqua in mind with items also available for sale. The show opened on July 28th and will run until August 22nd.  It also includes Art Beyond the Borders of Canvas from featured solo artist Joan Aspinall, who presents the brilliant and dynamic colours of Bermuda on glass, wood and wearable items.   The Arts Centre is open from daily between 10am and 5pm and admission is free.
