Hi Kids!

Just a quickie before the weekend:

Hard to believe, since she’s aging so well, but it turns out that the Swizzle Inn is the hippest octogenarian in town.  To celebrate 80 years of Swizzling Inn and Swaggering Out, they will be having special promotions, food and drink specials, drawings, special appearances and entertainment during the first 3 weeks of December. From now until December 9th, your child will receive a kid’s pizza or grilled cheese meal for free when purchasing a regular meal.  From December 10th until the 16th, diners will receive any second pizza for half price.  From December 17th until the 23rd, if you spend $80 or more, you get to select a special ornament off of their prize tree, with the prizes including discounts of up to 80%, gift vouchers and more.  Limited edition 80th Anniversary T-shirts are also available at both locations or in their online gift shop.

Morning Kids!

If you’re a bit of a holiday grinch, then you probably won’t want to read today’s post as pretty much everything below is festive-themed fun.  There are also lots of opportunities to shop locally for unique Christmas gifts so please consider Buying Bermuda whenever possible, especially from small business owners.  Here are the latest Bermuda events:

In an attempt to whittle our waistlines, as well as spread some festive cheer to those less fortunate, Betty Dowling from B-Active for Life is holding a free Holiday Circuit and Toning Class on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays until December 12th.  In lieu of payment, she asks that you bring canned non-perishable items to contribute to the food hamper at the Hamilton Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  The classes will be on the 3rd floor of Bulls Head Car Park and will be at 9am on the Sundays and at noon on Wednesdays and Fridays.    For more details, contact 533-4451 or bactivept@gmail.com.

Hi Kids

It is now less than a month away so, if you celebrate Christmas, I really hope that you are much more organised than I am.  Lots of festive fun coming up so let’s get right down to it:

DEMCO Florists are hosting their Annual Open House tonight at their premises in Devonshire.  From 5pm until 9pm, you can enjoy drinks and nibbles while browsing their selection of gifts and seasonal decor with special discounts available.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Kids!

I’m not quite sure why we celebrate American Thanksgiving here but hey, any excuse to have a roast turkey dinner is absolutely fine with me!  Here is what’s happening in Bermuda:

The Tree Lighting Ceremony for the 18th Annual Tree of Lights, a memorial tree which stands in front of City Hall, is on Friday, November 23rd at 5.30pm and will include performances from Saltus School Choir, Shacobi Basden, Bermuda High School Choir, Menuhin Foundation, Bermuda Regiment Band, Bermuda Island Pipe Band and a special appearance by Santa Claus!

Morning Kids!

Wow, so many decorations seem to have sprung up suddenly over the past week! Spare a thought for those in other parts of the world who have to put up with yuletide music and decorations from September/October and are already Christmassed-out by November.  I am vehemently against Santa hats before Halloween is over but am happy for all the mulled wine, eggnog and mince pies to start appearing now.  Other than fairylights, here’s what else is going on in Bermuda:

In the mood for dancing?  Salsero Marshall Weller is having a Pre-Birthday Salsa Party tonight at Cafe Continental.  The evening begins at 8.15pm with an intermediate turn pattern/styling class, followed by dancing from 8.45pm until 11pm.  There is no cover charge and there will be drinks specials all night.
